COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Ohio’s governor delayed a condemned child killer’s execution on Wednesday to study the feasibility of accommodating the unusual request by a state death row inmate to donate his organs.

Gov. John Kasich’s decision came less than 24 hours before Ronald Phillips was scheduled to die for the rape and death of his girlfriend’s 3-year-old daughter in Akron in 1993. A $4 million military drone plopped out of the sky into Lake Ontario and now nobody can find it. The National Guard reported that one of its flying robots plummeted into the eastern part of the lake around 1 p.m. yesterday, but had to give up searching for it because of bad weather.

The MQ-9 Reaper was on a practice mission over the military-controlled waters when it suddenly crashed about three hours into its session. The unarmed drone was being operated from the New York Air National Guard’s 174th Attack Wing in Syracuse. MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) — Medford, Ore.’s police chief says more federal agents are arriving to help investigate the detonation of an explosive device that damaged the Jackson County prosecutor’s office.

Police Chief Tim George also said Wednesday he considers the early-morning explosion an act of domestic terrorism, but the FBI said it was too early to call it that. Last month’s EBT-glitch shopping spree landed those who abused their benefits in hot water when Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal cancelled their SNAP cards. Taxpayers were assured that their dollars would not go to fund the chaotic free-for-all that ensued when shoppers discovered that their benefit cards suddenly had no limits. Wal-Mart made the decision to override the emergency measure of allowing only $50 per card and rang through heaping full carts of goods. The corporation publicly stepped up to the plate and said that they would take the loss. Chicago sinkhole, that’s the threat that has gobbled up a tree and flooded some homes with up to two feet of water and counting this week. Appearing on the Chicago South Side between 124th Street and Wentworth on Saturday night, the expanding sinkhole has become a major cause for concern, though city officials believe that they will have the issue fixed before the end of the month, the Christian Post reports this Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013.

The Chicago sinkhole is thought to have spanned a broken water main underneath the ground, causing the giant pit to continue crumbling. COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) — After nearly a decade in prison, freedom did not come easy for Ryan Ferguson — not even in the final few hours after the Missouri attorney general decided to not retry him in the 2001 slaying of a newspaper sports editor.

Ferguson was released Tuesday evening. But he first thought he was being sent to solitary confinement when he was told to gather his stuff in his prison cell. (Washington Times) – Last week, the U.S. Senate matter-of-factly, with no serious vocal opposition except a last-ditch warning of the consequences by Sen. Dan Coats, Indiana Republican, voted 64 to 32 to expand government and repeal the Bible.
