Congressman Worries About ‘Chilling Effect’ of Scandal — On IRS!

Weekly Standard – by Daniel Harper

Democratic congressman Elijah Cummings warned that the IRS scandal might result in a “chilling effect” on the IRS

“Let me tell you what I’m really concerned about in addition to all the other things that I’ve said,” said Cummings. “I’m concerned that all of this may have a chilling effect on employees where they say you know, when normally we would look at certain criteria fairly, not targeting anyone but say uh-oh, I’m worried because I’d better let this go.”

  1. I want to see some heads roll from the top on down and that would mean each one should be going to prison on some damned island – maybe “shutter island ” or something to that effect………… No damned “restructuring and reform” act of 1998 type of game as mentioned in the video..

  2. SHOW ME THE LAW THAT STATES WE HAVE TO PAY INCOME TAX.
    PERIOD.
THIS is the ONLY question that should be asked, AND ANSWERED.
    There is NO law…..

Let them ALL go to jail, and return OUR money!!

  3. Chilling Effect?? Whats the worse that can happen? IRS be dissolved department heads thrown in jail. Tax paying citizens get a break, the people in his district might have to go out and get real job and stop sucking off of welfare? The rest of the criminals running DC arrested and prosecuted? Chilling for him relief for us
