If anyone was wondering how Obama views himself as president, this one little statement issued as he reflected on Father’s Day would sum it up nicely. Obama stated “being a dad ‘the most important job many of us will ever have’ and there was no substitute for being in a child’s life. He went on to give a summation of his life without a father, what he tries to accomplish for his family and then sums up how he will recall his life.   Continue reading “Obama’s Father’s Day Freudian Slip”

“I told him, ‘I will release my son to you upon viewing those orders.’ Those were exactly my words,” The complainant said. “He said, ‘This is how you want to play?’ He took two steps back, turned around to the officer and said, ‘Take her.’ They turned me around, handcuffed me, and took me in.”  Continue reading “Police show up at a home to arrest an 11 year old. SAN FRANCISCO — The latest domestic energy boom is sweeping through some of the nation’s driest pockets, drawing millions of gallons of water to unlock oil and gas reserves from beneath the Earth’s surface.

Hydraulic fracturing, or the drilling technique commonly known as fracking, has been used for decades to blast huge volumes of water, fine sand and chemicals into the ground to crack open valuable shale formations.   Continue reading “From Texas to Illinois: Fracking fuels water fights in nation’s dry spots”

According to new details leaked to The Guardian (UK) by NSA leaker Edward Snowden, American and British intelligence directed snooping efforts against internet and phone data from foreign officials at the G20 in 2009.

According to the documents, which were created by the NSA and handed over to the UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev’s phone calls were bugged, and emails and calls from other delegates’ phones were monitored as well.  Continue reading “Leaked Docs: US Grabbed Medvedev’s Phone Calls at G20 in 2009”

Well now, here is evidence of what I’ve been saying all along and that is that you cannot be religiously neutral. It just can’t happen. Religion is at our very core and if we will not honor the true and living God as God, then we will fill that vacuum with a false god. Exhibit A: Rocky Mountain High School in Colorado. Outrage is building over the fact that students were encouraged to recite the Pledge of Allegiance over the loudspeaker in Arabic replacing “one nation under God” with “one nation under Allah.”   Continue reading “US High School Recites Pledge In Arabic: “One Nation Under Allah””

Rumors have long floated around about government shills spreading disinformation on websites that are at odds with the governmental party line. Now it’s official: the US government has awarded a contract to a company in California to create software to manage “online personalities”. The software will allow one person to manage up to 10 personas, and will be used to counter “extremist ideology and propaganda”.   Continue reading “US Military Thugs with Keyboards to Spread Propaganda Using Up to 10 Online Personas Each”

“Ace” at Ace of Spades has built one of the more successful political blogs on a balanced combination of snark, community-building (who else can can boast of a community that proudly/ironically calls themselves “morons?”) and very insightful observations that a lot of folks simply miss.

Last night, I read (twice) a post he wrote called Snowden’s Looking a Little Dodgy, which was written in regards to the stories surrounding NSA leaker Edward Snowden that has been dominating the news cycle for the past few days. I’d suggest that you read it all and think over it’s ramifications.   Continue reading “The NSA “scandal” isn’t important. Keep your eyes on the IRS plot, where the criminality lies.”

How ironic. The current NSA spying story broke just as President Obama was huddled on an out-of-the-way estate in California with China’s Xi Jinping to discuss US cyber-security concerns.

The administration had been claiming that a secret Bejing-based cyber military unit had been targeting US companies and government agencies. They insisted they had evidence and would confront the Chinese with it.   Continue reading “What We Are Learning – or Should Be – From the Spying Scandal”
