The Idaho State House passed a bill on Monday by a vote of 55-13 which would make it a misdemeanor for law enforcement officials in Idaho to enforce any new federal firearm laws that restrict gun ownership or contain registration requirements. While some consider it to be only symbolic, the measure is a clear reaction to the Obama administration’s attacks on the Second Amendment.
The vote was along party lines and could bring fines up to $1,000 and jail time up to one year to sheriff’s deputies, police officers, and other government employees who would help federal agents who might attempt to confiscate newly banned firearms or ammunition. PORTLAND, Ore., March 12 (Reuters) – Police stormed a motel room in Oregon on Tuesday to end an eight-hour standoff and arrest an ex-convict accused of killing his grandparents after they had thrown him a party to celebrate his release from prison, authorities said.
The suspect, Michael “Chadd” Boysen, 26, was taken into custody by police in the coastal town of Lincoln City, 76 miles (122 km) southwest of Portland, at about 7 p.m. local time suffering from self-inflicted knife wounds, Police Chief Keith Kilian said. A secret society is a club or organization whose activities and inner functioning are concealed from non-members. Secret Societies are organized conspiracies working in secret to achieve a hidden agenda. Members use secrecy to protect themselves and their movement. Critics view Secret Societies as malevolent organizations working against the general will of mankind. ‘ Members may be required to conceal or deny their membership, and they are often sworn to hold the society’s secrets by an oath. Violating the oath may result in the application of severe sanctions. Like the most successful forgeries, the most effective secret societies are unknown beyond their adherents. Members may be required to deny the organization itself exists.

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) – The Federal Aviation Administration is looking for six sites to become testing grounds for unmanned aircraft systems, better known as drones.
Leaders in Huntsville have thrown the city’s name in the hat to become one of the six.

WASHINGTON – Just as the United States undertakes a policy “pivot” toward Asia, which will move more American ships into the East and South China seas, Beijing is letting it be known that it is fielding its new DF-21D anti-ship missile as a threat against U.S. aircraft-carrier strike groups, according to report from Joseph Farah’s G2 Bulletin.

Dianne Feinstein’s assault weapon ban now appears to be a little more than decoy sent out to be shot down while the real work on gun control legislation is hammered out by Democrats, Republicans and the NRA behind closed doors.
According to sources cited by Ammoland.com, the “NRA is cutting back room deals to centralize gun owner data collection into the Obama/Holder massive government data base.” Republicans are working with Democrats to pass legislation that will require records be kept on all gun sales and also move to streamline and improve the database. NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — The Bloomberg Administration moved forward Tuesday afternoon with its appeal of a judge’s decision to halt New York City’s ban on super-sized sugary drinks.

I received a copy of the following graph by email. I don’t know who prepared the graph nor can I verify the numbers presented. However, the evidence “rings true” with me so I assume it’s correct. The implications are fairly obvious and significant:

WASHINGTON — A divided U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee approved a Democratic bill Tuesday expanding required federal background checks to nearly all gun purchases, giving President Barack Obama an early victory on curbing gun violence in a fight that still faces difficult odds.

It has not been a good week for Switzerland, a country that has unfortunately seen its strong traditions of privacy and independence steadily chipped away.
Last week saw the criminal sentencing in the US of Bank Wegelin, Switzerland’s oldest bank, founded in 1741.
