Progress Texas – by Glenn Smith

The powers that be at CPRIT, the cancer research fund that Gov. Rick Perry is using as his slush fund to reward contributors, would like us to forget that it remains under criminal investigation. Texans, though, are outraged that tax money intended to find cures for cancer has been turned into just another crony capitalist wasteland.

Over the last few months, Texas media have uncovered improper grants, grants made without scientific review, grants to Perry contributors, and the resignations of dozens of agency scientists in protest of the crass commercialization of the agency and the crony capitalism.  Continue reading “Rick Perry Breaks His Promise on Cancer Research”

Chuck Schumer’s S. 374, the Orwellian “Protecting Responsible Gun Sellers Act of 2013,” has been an empty shell… until he slipped in Amendment ALB13180 (PDF) today, which shows the “teeth” of the bill.  It is an extremely aggressive attempt to destroy the Second Amendment by isolating and criminalizing extremely common behaviors among gun owners.

Doubt me?   Continue reading “Prelude to a revolution: Shumer’s gun transfer ban”

Monterey Park, CA – On a cold and drizzly morning at the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Headquarters Bureau, a 25-year-old social media dispatcher is sitting at a computer station in a dimly lit room skimming social media feeds on three large screens.

The tech-savvy civilian dispatcher is part of the bureau’s new, 24-hour Electronic Communications Triage or eComm Unit that monitors social media and Internet content, shares information with the public and trains sheriff’s officials to use such platforms.

“They’re watching social media and Internet comments that pertain to this geographic area, watching what would pertain to our agencies so we can prevent crime, help the public,” LASD Capt. Mike Parker said. “And now they’re going to be ramping up more and more with more sharing and interacting, especially during crises, whether it’s local or regional.”

Since launching last September, the eight-member eComm unit has identified a suicidal teen on Instagram, intercepted bomb threats made on Twitter and discovered plans for hundreds of illegal drug parties via Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.  Continue reading “Police are spying on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, PInterest & other social media platforms.”

Trillions In Subsidies to the Giant Banks Are Continuing to This Day

MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, that oily man trapped in an oily woman’s body, put forth the most stupid argument for gun confiscation, yesterday, that I have ever heard.   A picture of a Carcano M91/38 bolt-action rifle appeared on the screen.  Rachel said, “This was the most popular foreign firearm, originally manufactured for military purposes that was sold in the United States at the time that John F. Kennedy introduced the bill that would have banned the sale of this gun.”

A picture of Lee Harvey Oswald then appeared on the screen and Rachel continued, “Want to get a better look at this gun, here’s another view.  The man holding the rifle in this photo, is Lee Harvey Oswald, who went on of course to kill John F. Kennedy with that gun in 1963.  Mr. Oswald bought that gun, by mail, legally, using a coupon that he clipped out of the American Rifleman Magazine, which is the magazine of the NRA.” Continue reading “Rachel Maddow Tells Little White Lies for the Communist Cause of Gun Confiscation”

Gary Spence.Save America Foundation – by Fred Brownbill

The following excerpt comes from Gerry Spence’s From Freedom to Slavery, the Rebirth of Freedom in America (1996)(pp. 13-50).  It is reprinted here with the permission of the author.  It includes a letter that the Wyoming defense lawyer wrote to a friend who had urged that he withdraw from the Weaver case.

Spence’s friend, the Jewish former CEO of Columbia Pictures, expressed concern that Spence’s defense of Weaver would lend credibility to the “despicable” racist and neo-Nazi groups with which the Weaver family had been associated.   Continue reading “Gerry Spence On Why He Agreed to Defend Randy Weaver.”

New York Counties Work to Repeal State Gun Control LawsThe New American – by Christian Gomez

As Democrats and gun control advocates praise the New York State Secure Ammunition and Firearms Enforcement Act of 2013, or NY SAFE Act as it is generally known, for being the first post-Newtown gun control legislation in the country, county after county in New York State has either introduced or passed resolutions calling for the law’s repeal.   Continue reading “New York Counties Work to Repeal State Gun Control Laws”

The U.S. needs to keep a close watch on the growing threat of home-grown extremist groups.

There are, in increasingly frightening numbers, cells of angry men in the United States preparing for combat with the U.S. government. They are usually heavily armed, blinded by an intractable hatred, often motivated by religious zeal.   Continue reading “Peril from ‘patriots’”

Obama visits troopsFellowship of the Mind – by Dr. Eowyn

Daniel Halper reports for The Weekly Standard, Mar. 5, 2013, that a U.S. Army spokesman, Stephen D. Abney, the chief public affairs official for the Army’s Joint Munitions Command, recently sent an email to all 6,000 employees he speaks for, as well as civilian contractors.

The email details how our soldiers should deal with the press because of sequestration — the mandatory spending cuts to the military. But the email also tells our soldiers they are not to criticize the POS or any political party to members of the press.   Continue reading “U.S. Army tells soldiers don’t criticize Obama”

Iran announced today that it will sue Hollywood for creating films the Islamic Republic alleges intentionally “propagate fear of Iran throughout the world,” according to state media reports.

According to this story from Phyllis Schlafly on the Eagle Forum, for the first time in  America’s history, all 18 year old women will be required to register for the draft. Soon, women who are still in high school and their first year of college will have to be ready to receive a letter from the Selective Service telling them they’re required to report for military duty. Soon, 18 year old women who have just begun their lives will have to kill real people and bleed real blood. Is this the way we indoctrinate the future into an endless war? Start with video games and then give young girls the taste for blood. What has America come to? Meanwhile, just days ago, Barack Obama signed the Violence Against Womens Act as shown on the whitehouse YouTube Channel in the video below. Where are Mr. Obama’s priorities? Don’t these two acts contradict each other? From Phyllis’s report with much more at link.   Continue reading “Obama’s War On Women: All 18 Year Old Women Will Now Have To Register For The Draft”
