The President’s own task force concluded that NSA spying in the US hadn’t prevented a single act of terrorism (e.g.,Washington Post, 12/23/13) (see also this and this).
The spying is really about gathering information on everybody. Innocent citizens.

A hungry New York City police officer arrested a law student because he asked why they illegally parked at a bus stop, according to a lawsuit filed at a New York court.
The incident began when 22-year-old Tzvi Richt, who studies at Cardozo Law School, headed home and noticed two officers ordering a man to move his car from a bus stop at Kings Highway and East 16th Street. At the conclusion of the U.S.-EU Summit held this week in Brussels, President Obama and his European colleagues released a joint statement reaffirming their common commitment to civilian disarmament as mandated in the United Nation’s Arms Trade Treaty (ATT).
While globalist and establishment media reports focus on the summit’s attention to the events in Crimea, there is a provision at the end of the statement that is of much greater concern to Americans aware of the crescendo of calls for restrictions on the right to keep and bear arms. Women who drink the most diet sodas may also be more likely to develop heart disease and even to die, according to a new study published Saturday.

(AFP)–Vatican police on Saturday apprehended an American and a Dutch man who were trying to deposit billions of euros and US dollars in fake bonds in the Vatican bank.
The men were stopped by the police when they approached one of the guarded gates at the Vatican and asked to be let through to the Institute for Religious Works (IOR) as the bank is formally known, Vatican spokesman Federico Lombardi told AFP. As far as I know, this sort of thing has happened only once since 1956.
That was when British magazines started getting eyewitness accounts and grainy photos of the Lockheed U-2, then operating out of RAF Lakenheath on its first spy flights over the Soviet Union. Classified programs have been exposed in all sorts of ways since then – for example, the A-12 Blackbird was disclosed under a degree of pressure – but until the RQ-170 Sentinel was seen at Kandahar in 2007-09 there has been no such aircraft photographed before it was declassified.
