Researchers at the Keck School of Medicine (KSM) at the University of Southern California (USC) presented a study at the American College of Neuropsychopharmacology (ACN) showing that fructose, a component of high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS) can make you feel hungry even after you have eaten, increasing the likelihood of overeating.

The researchers found “fructose ingestion produces smaller increases in circulating satiety hormones than glucose ingestion. Further, administration of fructose directly into the brain provokes feeding in rodents, whereas glucose administered this way promotes satiety, or the feeling of being full.”   Continue reading “Why Would High-Fructose Corn Syrup Make You Hungry?”

A number of acute-care hospitals closed across the United States last year — 18 to be exact — and experts who see a raft of new regulatory processes being heaped upon the healthcare industry in the coming years, thanks to the Affordable Care Act, believe that a wave of additional closures are ahead.

As noted by WorldNetDaily, a dozen more hospitals have closed in the U.S. so far this year in rural areas alone; more are getting ready to be shuttered. But Dr. Lee Hieb, M.D., says this is just the beginning.   Continue reading “Obamacare causing massive wave of hospital closures across USA”

SURABAYA, Indonesia (AP) — An Indonesian helicopter searching for the missing AirAsia jetliner saw two oily spots in the water Monday, and an Australian search plane spotted objects elsewhere in the Java Sea, but it was too early to know whether either was connected to the aircraft and its 162 passengers and crew.

In any case, officials saw little reason to believe AirAsia Flight 8501 met anything but a grim fate after it disappeared from radar Sunday morning over the Java Sea. Wary of bad weather, one of the pilots had asked to raise the plane’s altitude just before it vanished, but was not allowed because another aircraft was in the way.   Continue reading “Unclear whether oil, objects found in sea linked to lost jet”

HONOLULU (AP) — Warning from President Barack Obama to congressional Republicans: I have a veto pen and, come January, I won’t be afraid to use it.

Since taking office in 2009, Obama has only vetoed legislation twice, both in fairly minor circumstances. But with Republicans set to take full control of Congress next year, Obama is losing his last bulwark against a barrage of bills he doesn’t like: the Senate.   Continue reading “Obama warns GOP he plans to use veto pen in 2015”

MailAttachment1Guess this about says it all. I wonder if the young sign carriers are really communists or just useful idiots.

If President Obama won’t do it, someone else will. Thankfully, a human rights group in Berlin, The European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights, has begun the process of indicting members of the Bush Administration by filing criminal complaints against the architects of the Admin’s torture program.

Calls for an immediate investigation by the German human rights group was started after outrage ensued on the case of a German citizen, Khalid El-Masri, who had been captured by CIA agents in 2004  because of a mistaken identity mix-up and was tortured at a secret prison in Afghanistan.   Continue reading “Germany Files War Crimes Against Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld And Other CIA Officials”

Here are seven major leads to the many empirically proven natural cancer cures and healers who were suppressed by the mainstream medical establishment.   Continue reading “The top 7 natural cures for cancer revealed”

There are few issues as polarizing as whether or not marijuana should be legalized on a recreational or medical level. Yet in spite of the wide variance in views, marijuana’s recent momentum towards legalization is undeniable.

Marijuana gains momentum
Since 1996, when California became the first state to legalize the use of marijuana for medical purposes, we’ve witnessed 22 additional states pass laws allowing for its medical use. Furthermore, in 2012 and 2014 we saw a pair of states pass laws allowing for the legal sale of recreational, adult-use marijuana. In fact, one of the biggest victories for marijuana proponents came this year when residents in Alaska and Oregon both voted to legalize recreational marijuana.   Continue reading “This is potentially bad news for the legal marijuana movement”
