Jackson Guns and Ammo Shop in Henrietta closed its doors last week after the owner decided it was too difficult to continue business under New York state’s gun regulations.

Kordell Jackson ran his gun shop out of two locations in Henrietta and Scottsville, and had a large following of firearm owners on the south side of Rochester. The closure was in Jackson’s mind for months, he said. Three people were killed and five people were injured in an early Saturday morning “gang-related” shooting at an unoccupied home in Omaha, Nebraska, police said. Jakela Foster, 19, and Latisha Fox, 24, were found dead from gunshot wounds at a house party in the northwest part of Nebraska’s biggest city that police were called to at 1:44 a.m. (2:44 a.m. ET), said Police Chief Todd Schmaderer during a Saturday afternoon news conference. Twenty-six-year-old Cameron Harris later died at the hospital, Schmaderer said. ATLANTA —UPDATE: FBI Special Agent in Charge says both aircrafts have been swept and cleared. They are finishing searching the last pieces of luggage. So far, he says nothing suspicious has been found.

U.S. Rep. Morgan Griffith (R-Va.) recently introduced H.R. 131, a bill that would more comprehensively address the interstate transportation of firearms and ammunition for law-abiding gun owners.

Current federal law guarantees the right of law-abiding persons to transport firearms between two locations where they have a legal right to possess and carry them, regardless of state or local laws that would otherwise apply.
