In the past two years, we have witnessed a sea of change in the attitude of Americans toward cannabis. Colorado made history by becoming the first state to completely decriminalize possession and use of the plant, with Washington and other states soon following.

Medical cannabis use is now legal in 23 states, and others will soon be joining that list. Polls find that a solid majority of Americans support cannabis legalization, especially for medicinal use. The Free Thought Project has reported on many incredible ways that cannabis is being used to treat a variety of ailments. Its effectiveness at reducing or eliminating epileptic seizures is nothing short of amazing.   Continue reading “Report: “All Cannabis Use is Medicinal” Whether You Know it Or Not”

The ACLU of Oregon isn’t convinced independent broadcaster Pete Santilli, who has been detained pending trial on a federal conspiracy charge in the takeover of a Harney County wildlife refuge, is a danger to the community and cautions the court against using his broadcast statements against him.

Mat dos Santos, the legal director of the American Civil Liberties Union of Oregon, issued a public statement on the agency’s website Tuesday afternoon, writing that he was troubled that a federal judge and prosecutors relied on remarks Santilli made months or even years before the armed takeover of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge that began Jan. 2.    Continue reading “ACLU of Oregon issues statement in support of Pete Santilli’s First Amendment rights”

Houston, TX — It was recently revealed in court documents that a former police officer who shot a woman in the head during a road rage incident has a history marred with violence and anger issues.

Kenneth Caplan, a reserve deputy constable with Harris County Precinct 6, was charged last year with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after shooting a woman in the head during a fit of road rage.   Continue reading “Cop Never Fired After 2 Fits of Road Rage – On the 3rd Fit, He Shot a Lady in the Head for Honking”

If you’ve got a gun and you receive Social Security, you are now being targeted by the Obama administration.

In the latest stealth effort by the Communist administration, the Social Security Administration is wanting to list the names of those who receive Social Security benefits to the National Instant Check System (NICS) as “prohibited persons.” This would effectively ban them from being able to purchase a gun and would target those who already own guns.   Continue reading “Armed Social Security Recipients are Now Targeted by Obama”

The federal judge who threw Kentucky county clerk Kim Davis into jail last year for refusing to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples said she had not interfered with the process since her release and that licenses with her name removed should still be valid.

U.S. District Court Judge David Bunning ruled late on Tuesday that Rowan County’s Davis, who spent five days in jail last September for her stand on marriage licenses for gay couples, had not interfered with her deputies’ issuing the licenses.   Continue reading “Judge clears Kentucky clerk, OKs marriage licenses with her name removed”

President Obama doubled down on his commitment to gun control Tuesday in the 2017 budget proposal he sent to Congress.

The $4.1 trillion budget request, which represents President Obama’s wish list, was met with sharp Republican criticism. The proposal calls for funding increases at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the FBI to fight gun violence.   Continue reading “Obama’s budget proposal includes billions for gun control”

Word by word, the language is being picked apart by the politically correct police on the most ridiculous grounds possible. Pretty soon we aren’t going to be able to use very many words anymore… not unless we want to (GASP!) offend someone.

In a world where governments are blowing up children with drones and calling them collateral damage in phony terror wars on a daily basis, social engineering has turned average people into walking arguments that the film Idiocracy was actually a documentary, busily wasting their time fretting over how offensive otherwise innocuous words are.   Continue reading “More PC Insanity: College Students Banned From Using “Mom” Or “Dad” Because It’s Not “Inclusive” Enough”

The Obama administration is pushing ahead with its plans to slash pension benefits for up to one million participants in “underfunded” multiemployer pension funds as part of its drive to make defined-benefit pensions a thing of the past for all US workers.

The White House campaign, carried out in a conspiracy with the major trade unions and multinational corporations, takes place in the wake of the 2013–2014 bankruptcy of Detroit, which set a precedent for slashing the legally protected pension benefits of retirees.   Continue reading “White House pushes ahead with plan to slash pensions for up to one million retirees”

NEW YORK (AP) — Jurors will return to court as they consider whether a rookie police officer who shot an innocent man in a dark public housing stairwell accidentally discharged his weapon, as he says, or whether he acted out of recklessness and did little to help the dying victim, as the prosecution contends.

New York Police Department Officer Peter Liang faces up to 15 years in prison if he’s convicted on manslaughter and other charges in the death of 28-year-old Akai Gurley, who was taking the stairs down with his girlfriend rather than wait for an elevator at the Brooklyn complex.   Continue reading “Jury to decide fate of NY officer in stairwell shooting case”

WASHINGTON (AP) — The administration of President Barack Obama is vowing to press ahead with efforts to curtail greenhouse gas emissions after a divided Supreme Court put his signature plan to address climate change on hold until after legal challenges are resolved.

Tuesday’s surprising move by the court is a blow to Obama and a victory for the coalition of 27 mostly Republican-led states and industry opponents, who call the regulations “an unprecedented power grab.”   Continue reading “Obama vows to press ahead on Clean Power Plan after setback”

SAN DIEGO (AP) — For nearly 50 years, Sirhan Sirhan has been consistent: He says he doesn’t remember fatally shooting Sen. Robert F. Kennedy in a crowded kitchen pantry of the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles.

The Jerusalem native, now 71, has given no inkling that he will change his version of events at his 15th parole hearing on Wednesday in San Diego. He is serving a life sentence that was commuted from death when the California Supreme Court briefly outlawed capital punishment in 1972.   Continue reading “Parole hearing set for Robert Kennedy killer Sirhan Sirhan”

What should you do if a local portfolio reviewer asks you to bring your child with you to an annual homeschool portfolio review? The best answer for almost everyone is, “no thank you.” Here’s why.

The homeschool regulation COMAR 13A.10.01.01.E which says a parent “shall agree to permit” a portfolio reviewer to “observe instruction” is unconstitutional. The Fourth Amendment prohibits government agents from coming into your home without a warrant. A portfolio reviewer who might seek to come into your home (where instruction normally occurs) would have no warrant. Nor would she have grounds for a warrant. Forcing you to allow a government agent into your home to observe instruction violates your Fourth Amendment rights.   Continue reading “Protect Your Right to Keep Kids Home during Portfolio Review”

In April 2015, 20-year-old John T. Booker Jr. was arrested after he attempted to build a bomb made with inert materials provided by the FBI. Booker, also known as Mohammed Abdullah Hassan, believed he was building a 1,000-pound car bomb to attack Fort Riley, Kansas.

Booker was unaware that the bomb was fake and the two men he believed were working with Daesh (ISIS) were actually FBI informants. Booker recently plead guilty to attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction and attempted destruction of government property by fire or explosion and now faces 30 years in prison.   Continue reading “Yet Another Person Guilty Of Terrorism After Being Set Up By The FBI”
