ITNT News – Overnight the number of, reportedly, confirmed cases has increased by more than 15,000. The reason given for this is that the method for diagnosis has changed. The new number, claims the New York Times, includes “infections diagnosed by using lung scans of symptomatic patients.” However, “Lung scans are an imperfect means to diagnose patients. Even patients with ordinary seasonal flu may develop pneumonia visible on a lung scan.”   Continue reading “Coronavirus: Overall Tally by Johns Hopkins University No Longer a Reliable Reference Point”

Market Watch – by Greg Robb

Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell said Wednesday the central bank would fight the next economic downturn by buying large amounts of government debt to drive down long-term interest rates, a strategy that has been dubbed quantitative easing, or QE.

In testimony before the Senate Banking Committee, Powell said the Fed had two recession-fighting tools; buying government bonds, known as QE, and communicating clearly with markets about interest-rate policy, routinely considered as “forward guidance.”  Continue reading “Powell says Fed will aggressively use QE to fight next recession”

The scene is one many of us have somewhere in our family history: Dozens of people celebrating Thanksgiving or some other holiday around a makeshift stretch of family tables—siblings, cousins, aunts, uncles, great-aunts. The grandparents are telling the old family stories for the 37th time. “It was the most beautiful place you’ve ever seen in your life,” says one, remembering his first day in America. “There were lights everywhere … It was a celebration of light! I thought they were for me.”  Continue reading “The Nuclear Family Was a Mistake”

A Pennsylvania family is pleading with their school board to reconsider its policy on “threat assessments” for students, after their 6-year-old daughter with Down Syndrome was reported to police for pointing her finger like a gun.

Margot Gaines, a kindergartener at the Valley Forge Elementary School in Tredyffrin, Pennsylvania, made the gesture in November and told her teacher, “I shoot you,” according to her mother, Maggie.  Continue reading “A Pennsylvania school called police after a 6-year-old girl with Down Syndrome pointed her finger like a gun, her mother says”

President Donald Trump on Tuesday celebrated that the top tech companies now had market caps over a trillion dollars, and noted the initials of the companies that spelled MAGA.

“We have four trillion-dollar companies, one is Microsoft, one is Apple, one is Google, one is Amazon,” Trump said. “So you have an M, you have an A, you have a G, you have an A — You have MAGA.”  Continue reading “Donald Trump Celebrates ‘MAGA’ Trillion Dollar Tech: Microsoft, Apple, Google, Amazon”

I spent nine years on active duty in the U.S. Navy. I served as an aircraft commander, led combat reconnaissance crews, and taught naval history. But the first thing I did upon joining the military, the act that solemnized my obligation, was swear an oath to support and defend the Constitution. How strange, then, that despite all of my training, the millions of taxpayer dollars devoted to teaching me how to fly, lead, and teach, not once did I receive meaningful instruction on the document to which I had pledged my life. On January 15, 2020, the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons filed a lawsuit claiming that defendant Adam Schiff abused government power and infringed on their freedom of speech. The lawsuit is in response to Congressman Schiff contacting Google, Facebook, and Amazon urging them to de-platform or discredit so-called “inaccurate” information on vaccines. All three tech giants complied, and AAPS was censored. AAPS contends that “The First Amendment protects the rights of free speech and association. Included within the right of free speech is a right to receive information from willing speakers. Under the First Amendment, Americans have the right to hear all sides of every issue and to make their own judgments about those issues without government interference or limitations.” -GEG
