The statue of George Washington at Miami University in Ohio was covered with a tarp as part of a university-approved “art installation” aimed at the “problematic” views surrounding the nation’s first president.

The House on Friday passed a landmark bill that would remove federal penalties on marijuana and erase cannabis-related criminal records.

The bill passed by a vote of 228-164, with several Republicans on board. While the MORE Act is not expected to come up in the Senate this year, and likely won’t in the next session of Congress either, its passage nevertheless marks a monumental step in marijuana policy. Admitted Kenosha killer Kyle Rittenhouse will be tried for murder, a court in Wisconsin ruled on Thursday afternoon.

The decision comes as a blow to the defense, which attempted to argue the defendant acted in self-defense and therefore did not commit a felony. A self-defense argument necessitates admitting the underlying action was committed by whomever attempts to claim it. New Orleans, LA — Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry and the Cyber Crime Unit, in partnership with the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation, Homeland Security Investigations, and Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office launched a sting last month to catch the low-life scum who traffic in child sex abuse. During the law enforcement sting, they nabbed one of their own, a Port Fourchon Harbor Police Officer, Jason Plaisance, 47.

Plaisance was caught trafficking in child porn in the sting along with a convicted sex-offender, Dillion Everett, 33. After his arrest, the officer of 21 years, was fired from his job and now faces multiple counts of trafficking in child pornography involving juveniles under the age of 13. Anti-vax sentiment against the Covid-19 vaccination appears to be growing sharply in France, after a new poll put the number of people opposed to the jab at higher than 50% for the first time.
