Donald Trump: Those With ‘Even an Inclination Toward Terrorism’ Shouldn’t Buy Guns

ABC News

Presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump is reaffirming his stance on potentially restricting individuals on the terror watch list from being able to purchase firearms, a week after the worst mass shooting in U.S. history.

“We have to make sure that people that are terrorists or have even an inclination toward terrorism cannot buy weapons, guns,” Trump told ABC News Chief White House Correspondent Jonathan Karl in an interview to air Sunday on “This Week.”

Asked by Karl if his position is that those on the no-fly or terror watch list should not be able to purchase a gun, Trump responded, “I’d like to see that, and I’d like to say it. And it’s simpler. It’s just simpler.”

In a tweet Wednesday, Trump announced he would meet with the NRA to discuss banning those on the terror watch list or no fly list from buying guns.

The NRA responded with a tweet saying they are happy to meet with the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, and that their position is “no guns for terrorists—period. Due process & right to self-defense for law-abiding Americans.”

Trump says he understands the NRA wants to protect the Second Amendment, and that creating a gun ban for those on the no-fly list may deny those individuals their Second Amendment rights without due process.

“Now, but what they say, and I understand that also, is the Second Amendment, they’re depriving them of those rights. And that it could be that people are on there that shouldn’t be on, you know, etc. etc.,” Trump said.

“I’ll talk to them,” Trump added. “I understand exactly what they’re saying. You know, a lot of people are on the list that that really maybe shouldn’t be on the list and you know their rights are being taken away so I understand that.”

The NRA announced its endorsement of Trump in May at its leadership forum in Kentucky.

  1. “those with even an inclination to vote for donald trump should be deported to madagascar” mark abbott……………….

  2. Today, “ahmed” from some middle eastern nation is a terrorist. Tomorrow, it’ll be “chris” from Ohio for speaking out against govt crimes, corruption and tyranny. He says he understands that some innocent people’s rights are violated by these lists but wants to ban people with even an “INCLINATION” to terrorism. What exactly does he mean by that? Who will determine what that “inclination” is? I wonder. “No free man shall be debated the use of arms, right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed, every instrument of the soldier is every americans birthright. Some one please tell these zionist lap dogs their supposed to be running for office in AMERICA.

  3. Trump, you are unqualified for the presidency as you are ignorant of the 2nd amendment of the Bill of Rights.

You are also a treasonous traitor, and if tried in our courts, yes, simply for suggesting what you have, you’d be found guilty.

All who vote for him are accessories to the treason. Think long and hard about this.

  4. This is good. Trump is exposing himself to be “more of the same” long before the election.

This will result in fewer people believing he’s some kind of “knight in shining armor” that will save America, and instead help them realize what’s actually required to accomplish that goal.

  5. Terrorism in America:

Congress assembles and represents no one except their own bank accounts and Illegal Aliens.
The Oval Office is occupied by a queer and his husband, bent on granting special privileges to certain groups, regardless of what anyone else wants.
The Supreme Court unofficially declared itself a legislative judiciary and passes it’s own laws, completely ignoring the existing ones.
The Federal Reserve ensures that everyone is in debt.
The American People are the enemy.

I don’t see Trump fixing any of that…only adding to it.

    1. This would be a great Presidential slogan.

Should be copyrighted and sold to the masses for millions.

      Good job.

    1. I’ve always been curious as to how long it takes to make that finger design.

Is there a button to push that does it automatically? If not, I admire the patience of those that design it.

      1. I have it in an e-mail, Katie (from digger, if I remember correctly). I just copy & paste it from there.

I could send it to Henry for you, if you like. 🙂

        1. Thanks for the offer, but I’ll pass.

I try to only think that term, rather than use it or say it. I’ll leave that up to you, you’re better at it anyway.

  7. So where exactly in the Constitution and Bill of Rights is the NRA mentioned as the only ones who’s opinion is valuable concerning the 2nd Amendment Rights for ALL Americans, and where does it state in the Constitution that they as representatives of all Americans Present and UNBORN can trade with the Government unalienable rights away?

I mean, as long as it can be sold as reasonable, they have compromised a lot of teeth out of the Amendment already.

    Ever heard of a referendum?
