As former U.S. Rep. Gabby Giffords rehearsed the pro-gun control speech she will be delivering in various settings this fall, she stated that the gun violence she endured means “opportunity.”
According to USA Today, Giffords made this assertion in response to a question about her ongoing public push for more gun control via universal background checks, new regulations for gun shows, and more rules for online gun sales.
Reporter Susan Page described Giffords as “the nation’s most prominent victim of gun violence,” then asked her, “What does that mean to you?” Giffords responded, “Opportunity.”
Giffords’ husband, Mark Kelly, urged her to say more, and she added that it is the opportunity to do “the right thing” and “make a positive change.” But Giffords’ recent efforts have been viewed as far from “positive” by some news outlets.
For example, on September 19, the The Arizona Republic called out Giffords for the negativity of the most recent ad her gun control group is running against congressional candidate Martha McSally (D-AZ-Dist. 2). The Republic described the ad as “a piece of nasty work” that is “base and vile.”
On June 23, Breitbart News reported that numerous red state Democrats running for reelection this fall have asked Giffords and Kelly to stay away from their races. Among those making that request are Senators Mark Udall (D-CO), Mary Landrieu (D-LA), and Kay Hagan (D-NC), all three of whom voted for the failed Senate gun control bill in April 2013.

I honestly believe she was faking her speech impediment.
Yep.I agree. There is waaay too much wrong with this event as well for me to believe it. Including the dent in her forehead she had in H.S. pictures that is being sold to the public as her “bullet wound scar”.
She’s had a dent in her head since the day she was born.
