Johnny Cash “The Man Comes Around”

Published on Aug 2, 2013 by Bob Barry

“The Man Comes Around” is the title track from Johnny Cash’s 2002 album, American IV: The Man Comes Around. The song was actually written a few years earlier, however, Johnny updated it for the album. It is one of the last songs Johnny Cash wrote before his death. Both sung and spoken, “The Man Comes Around” makes numerous Biblical references, especially to the Book Of Revelation.

  1. Hey Swifty. thanks for posting this. I never get tired of this song. Miss Johnny. Guess we’ll meat in the kingdom. 🙂

  2. Love this song. Always sends a chill up my spine because he so accurately foretells what is and will be. Whole lot of reality packed into one song. Johnny may not want to wear a rainbow on this earth everyday now because the sodomites have stolen that gift, but I venture to say he can wear one where he is now.
