During President Donald Trump’s interview with Fox News’ Laura Ingraham on Friday, the commander in chief boasted about using U.S. military troops as bargaining chips across the planet by quite literally selling them. Naturally, anyone who is paying attention came out raging against it, including yours truly.
“Listen, you’re a very rich country,” he told Saudi officials, Trump recounted on Fox News. “You want more troops? I’m going to send them to you, but you’ve got to pay us. They’re paying us. They’ve already deposited $1 billion in the bank.”
Reread that statement if you need to. “I’m going to send them to you, but you’ve got to pay us” directly refers to the act of selling our troops. He then says he’s already gotten paid for it! There is absolutely nothing in the constitution to which both Trump and I swore an oath to uphold that says anything about selling troops to countries who give us money. This is not foreign aid, this is transforming the military into a group of mercenaries that can be traded by powerful countries. This is not only unconstitutional, but it’s a disgrace and one of the most egregious moves ever made by a president.
Trump also told Ingraham that both Saudi Arabia and South Korea have already deposited money into a “bank account” in exchange for more U.S. troops. Exactly who this supposed “bank account” belongs to, Trump did not elaborate.
Referring to U.S. troops like they are mercenaries to be sold on the open market, Trump continued, “We are going to help them, but these rich countries have to pay for it. South Korea gave us $500 million… I said, ‘You gotta help us along. We have 32,000 soldiers in South Korea protecting you from North Korea. You’ve gotta pay.’”
Registered independent, but very libertarian congressman Justin Amash took the president to task for such a disgusting policy.
“He sells troops,” Amash Tweeted on Saturday.
He sells troops.
“We have a very good relationship with Saudi Arabia—I said, listen, you’re a very rich country. You want more troops? I’m going to send them to you, but you’ve got to pay us. They’re paying us. They’ve already deposited $1B in the bank.” pic.twitter.com/rc1f7heyCP

Amash has been one of the few voices on the right to have the courage to stand up to Trump’s tyrannical and freedom-depleting moves. Back in October, on Meet the Press, Amash called out Trump for lying during his campaign, falsely claiming — just like his predecessor Obama did — he would “bring the troops home.”
“He’s not bringing home the troops. He’s just moving them to other parts of the Middle East,” Amash said.
“He’s moving … troops into Saudi Arabia and using our forces almost as mercenaries, paid mercenaries. As long as Saudi Arabia pays us some money, it’s good to go,” he added sarcastically.
Veterans and active duty alike took to Twitter over the weekend to call the president out for selling troops. No one in their right mind should support a policy of selling troops to foreign governments for money — regardless of party affiliation and especially to the terrorist nation of Saudi Arabia.
What’s more, this move to sell troops on the open market comes after Trump already pledged his support to Saudi Arabia and vowed to obey their commands. Last September, after an oil field was bombed in Saudi Arabia, President Donald Trump tweeted that “we are waiting to hear from the Kingdom…” to find out “under what terms we would proceed” to send them our military assets.
The president of the United States admitted that he was waiting on orders to be handed down from a theocratic dictatorship in Saudi Arabia on how to use the men and women in the US armed forces. Naturally, this prompted backlash from all sides, and for good reason. Saudi Arabia is the largest state sponsor of terrorism in the world and they were behind the largest terror attack ever carried out on American soil, 9/11.
Despite knowing that the Saudis aided and funded the terrorists who flew planes into two world trade center towers that fateful day back in 2001, presidents George W. Bush, Barack Obama, and Donald Trump have bowed down to the dictatorial regime, quite literally. The support the United States establishment pledges to the terrorist dictatorship in Saudi Arabia is an insult to every single person who has served or is serving in the armed forces and on Friday it got much worse.
The U.S. is now selling troops to Saudi Arabia despite knowing Saudi Arabian officials aided the hijackers on 9/11. Saudi Arabia also murders journalists, imprisons and executes citizens for religious beliefs and sexual orientation and treats women like slaves. They have also been caught funding the very people the troops are said to be fighting, Al Qaeda. For those who don’t recall, it is also a fact that 15 out of the 19 hijackers on 9/11 were from Saudi Arabia.
Naturally, we should be selling them our troops, right? Wrong. This country deserves no help from the United States and our troops have no business protecting Saudi interests, paid or not.
If you are a republican and sit idly by as the president talks about selling the men and women of our armed forces to terrorist nations, you are part of the problem. This policy goes far beyond party lines and those who support it as not to offend their party are complicit in this treason.
“He’s moving … troops into Saudi Arabia and using our forces almost as mercenaries, paid mercenaries.
They have been from the BEGINNING!
“The U.S. is now selling troops to Saudi Arabia despite knowing Saudi Arabian officials aided the hijackers on 9/11.”
Smoke screen on top of smoke screen, doing their damndest to provide “legitimacy” to the “saudis did 9/11 with hijacked planes” misdirection canard.
So, Trump is selling troops to Israel?
