A man in Washington created a genius device to catch pesky thieves who steal packages from front porches.
Jaireme Barrow, from Tacoma, Washington, was tired of people stealing his expensive Jeep parts and decided he ‘wanted to even the playing field’
He created one of the earliest models trap – using 12-gauge shotgun blanks, fishing line, bricks, a wooden box-like, a small box, aluminum carrying vessel for the blanks, a small plate, and a cardbox box – and has filmed numerous wannabe thieves.
When [the fishing line] is pulled the plate is moved releasing the pin and firing the blank,’ he said to Jalopink.com.
But the original model was not fool proof, and Barrow had to make a sign that said ‘Package armed,’
Nevertheless, numerous thieves can be seen being caught in the action, with one unfortunate soul even stumbling over himself trying to escape the popping.
In his video, the man can be seen walking up to the house to try to steal the package on Friday.
As he looks at the box, it explodes and he fumbles down the steps on the foggy day.
Another tries to take a box on December 1 at night only to be spooked so bad that he almost falls over the new gate that was put up in the last year.
In an earlier video from the year before, a woman can be heard screaming when she is frightened by the loud sudden noise. She runs back to the car that she came with.
From that, Barrow decided to launch The Blank Box, revising his old box method for something much simpler and sell-able.
For roughly $50-$70, people can get their own safety boxes and replace with extra blanks for an additional $2.99.
He even sells t-shirts that say ‘don’t touch my box.’
But no worries, his products offer free shipping but they do not explode upon first open.
Additionally, he even offers a step-by-step video, explaining how to set the compartment up.

LMAO I love it as I’ve had packages stolen all of a sudden after all these years. My only concern is, sometimes my neighbors will see a package on my step and will hold it for me….guess I’d better warn them when I set this up LMAO
That’s why the UPS guy just rings the doorbell , drops the packages and runs so he doesn’t get mugged..
Plus he doesn’t want the truck stolen…
I call them Oops… spelled UPS.
This comic joke relief moment is sponsored in part by
“FEDEX GROUND SHIPPING”…
When it absolutely. ..positively …needs to be there the next day.
Don’t use UPS.
Now back to our regular programming schedule.
I can see this getting outlawed , or deemed illegal
some thief will get hurt, and sue .. than the BATFEIEIO will get involved and call this boobie trapping and call the device an IED
wait for it .. remember who told ya so
Rock salt for emphasis.
