Multi-Billionaire Tom Perkins has had a letter published in the Wall Street Journal that likens the Occupy movement and other progressive causes to World War ll Nazis.
Writing from the epicenter of progressive thought, San Francisco, I would call attention to the parallels of fascist Nazi Germany to its war on its “one percent,” namely its Jews, to the progressive war on the American one percent, namely the “rich.” From the Occupy movement to the demonization of the rich embedded in virtually every word of our local newspaper, the San Francisco Chronicle, I perceive a rising tide of hatred of the successful one percent. There is outraged public reaction to the Google buses carrying technology workers from the city to the peninsula high-tech companies which employ them. We have outrage over the rising real-estate prices which these “techno geeks” can pay. We have, for example, libelous and cruel attacks in the Chronicle on our number-one celebrity, the author Danielle Steel, alleging that she is a “snob” despite the millions she has spent on our city’s homeless and mentally ill over the past decades.
This is a very dangerous drift in our American thinking. Kristallnacht was unthinkable in 1930; is its descendant “progressive” radicalism unthinkable now?

Perkins is one of the founders of Kleiner Perkins Caulfield & Byers, a venture capital firm located in Silicone Valley.
In an email to Bloomberg he wrote:
“In the Nazi area it was racial demonization, now it is class demonization,”
So, this man thinks that getting a verbal slating from the population at large is akin to what the Jews suffered at the hands of the Nazis? He feels that a few harsh words aimed at him and his rich friends is on the same level as families getting torn apart, having experiments conducted on them and then being gassed to death?
He may have come through MIT, he may be a bit of a whizz kid at money making, but he has no idea about basic history. The vast majority of us that make up the citizenry of the United States have always admired those who have made their own way in life, those who have worked hard and achieved something. What the vast majority of us don’t like is those who have made their cash…or inherited it, and then become so removed from everyday life they have no clue how to relate to normal people.
We dislike the whining mentality these people possess.
We dislike that they talk to others of their ilk behind closed doors, planning and plotting how to arrange the world so that it benefits just the 1%, and to hell with everyone else.
We dislike that they treat the rest of us as nothing more than insignificant pawns to be moved, at their behest, wherever and whenever the mood takes them.
We dislike that they think we are stupid, that we don’t see that their sometime philanthropy is in fact a guise, a means to an end that allows them to engineer the future they want.
Now engineering a future for you and your family is fine, that’s what life is all about, but engineering on a world wide level, steering and organizing to the detriment of the majority, well that’s not fine at all. This is why the majority are against the 1%.
To sit there whining about how he and his fellow elitists are ‘demonized’ is laughable. Is that really all he has to worry about? Of course it is…he doesn’t have to concern himself with losing his job, keeping a roof over his families head or food on the table.
What a sad pathetic individual Tom Perkins is. He is a man that is out of touch with reality. A man so rich that there is probably little he can’t buy, but he is still unhappy that people can’t see how awful his life is getting called names and done down by the Nazi types,
Mr Perkins…do us all a favor, f@*k off and buy yourself another yacht, or matching his n’ hers Rolls Royces or something. Oh and another thing, you can afford to pay for advertizing for your latest venture, how very cheap of you to highlight who you are and what you do by sending out a controversial letter you knew would be published.
As my English Gran used to say: “Yer as tight as a ducks arse, and that’s watertight.”
Or, you’re deliberately trying to cause unrest amongst those you know will be outraged by the comparisons you have drawn. Regardless of which it is, and of course it could well be both, it still has the same Modus Operandi…a means to an end that suits the 1% and the 1% alone.
