Obama Begs Congress for Early “Christmas Present” before “They Leave for the Holidays”

WASHINGTON D.C. (INTELLIHUB.COM) — A “historic boost in funding for biomedical research” has already been approved, President Barack Obama pointed out in his latest speech, at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), which focused on combating the Ebola outbreak.

“I was proud to welcome Nina to the Oval Office and give her a big hug. She is now home in Texas. […] Ebola free” but we have to “solve it [the Ebola crisis] in West-Africa as well.”, Obama pleaded with the crowd, feeding on his very own power, making gestures by pressing his tongue inside his lower lip.

“This is not just a product of last year’s work. It’s the product of over a decade of inquiries and work. […] That’s part of how science works, you make investments. […] Ebola vaccinations are in the works.”, said Obama.

“A few months ago only 13 states could test for Ebola — today over 36 can. […] this is important progress.” but we need to be “guided by science. Not by speculation, not by fear, not by rumor, not by panic.”, Obama carried on also mentioning that “some 3000 service members are now on the ground” in Liberia helping with efforts to contain the deadly virus, making note of Sierra Leone’s worsening condition.

“This can still spread to other countries as seen in Mali […] We can not let down our guard even for a minute. And we can’t just fight this epidemic, we have to extinguish it.”, but “we can not beat Ebola without more funding.”

“That’s why I’m calling on congress to approve our emergency funding request to fight this disease, before they leave for the holidays. It’s a good Christmas present to the American people and to the world.” said Obama, garnering a major applause by the audience.

“The funding is needing to speed up testing […] and deal with any future outbreaks before they become epidemic.”Obama said, continuing on to mention SARS and the H1N1 in a brief joke [laughter from crowd].

“It is a smart investment for us to make.”

“[…] we should all agree. […] how do you argue with that. That is not a partisan issue. That is a basic common sense issue […] this is not a democrat or a republican issue.”

In closing Obama ended on a personal note about one woman’s work in Liberia “caring for Ebola patients” before becoming “infected herself.”

Will more no-bid private contracts be awarded?

  1. “..we have to solve the ebola crisis in West-Africa…” Who’s this “we” black man? Since when did the US become responsible for health crisises in other countries..unless, of course, the US is responsible for them. These clowns in our government spread their largesse like drunken sailors..with our money!

  2. “It’s a good Christmas present to the American people and to the world.” ??? Are you kidding me???? Burden the American people with yet another bill!! Yeah that’s a good idea. The best Christmas present we could get is if the big B.O. stepped down. This guy is out of control.
