  1. Does anybody else get the feeling that he’s a dead man walking ? The last President that bashed the CIA and stood up to the Establishment was JFK, and we all know that outcome. We can all say what we’ll do if the Evil Empire whack’s him, but at the end of the day it’ll come down to the fact that he’s dead, and we’re well and truly fucked. Pardon my pessimism, but I’m so well and truly fucked, it’s hard to work up any optimism. Lord, please protect him !

    1. We all discussed that when Dr. Paul was considering joining the race. Another reason why we need Ventura as his running mate. Jesse’s been mighty quiet, as of late. Has anyone heard anything about him?

      1. On a personal note to Clark Kent,
I’ve been catching up on articles and comments since my hiatus, due to the storm. Just found out that you’re Sam-NC. You and your son have been heavy on my mind. I’m so glad you’re still with us. Love the new handle! Stay strong, Superman! 🙂 One way or another, we WILL get through this.

        1. Hey, Angel ! My son and I lost our apt. back in Feb., so we ended up staying with some friends. One of them didn’t like this site, so I changed my handle for anonymity. We had to leave there in July, and my son got fed up with the whole 99er situation and went to live with his not so supportive mother. It broke my heart, but she’s got a job and her own apt., so I can’t blame him. I appreciate your concern and kindness very much. God Bless you and yours.

  2. Is this guy, Jon Huntsman, for real?!? I don’t know what reality he lives in but it must be a scary, scary place!

“Huntsman sets high expectations amid turbulence”

“September 01, 2011 — MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) — Brushing off bad poll numbers, presidential hopeful Jon Huntsman on Thursday predicted that he’ll win New Hampshire’s Republican primary — even as he acknowledged that his campaign manager for the state had been fired.

“I want to put you on notice. We’re going to win this state. We’re going to win this primary,” the former Utah governor said at the popular Politics and Eggs discussion series. His comments came in the same week he earned just 1 percent in two national polls. And they came the same day he confirmed the firing of New Hampshire campaign manager Ethan Eilon.

Huntsman would not explain why Eilon was fired, but spokesman Michael Levoff said, “The campaign is very pleased with the leadership team we have in place in New Hampshire.” Huntsman, himself, also said that polls are meaningless this early. And he offered a subtle jab at Texas Gov. Rick Perry, his Republican opponent and someone he later called a friend.

“I might not have the Texas Rangers here, I might not have a large entourage,” he said, a reference to Perry’s recent campaign stops. Huntsman met with voters the day after releasing a formal jobs plan which calls for lowering corporate tax rates and ending loopholes.

Appearing earlier Thursday on NBC’s “Today,” Huntsman criticized his GOP rivals, saying “we’re getting drama but not solutions.” Asked if Perry and Michele Bachmann are too far to the right to beat Obama in 2012, he said voters “don’t want politics at the extreme ends.”
