Texas officer trying to arrest suspect shot by fellow cop

WEATHERFORD, Texas (AP) — A Texas police officer shot another officer and a man he was trying to arrest during a confrontation following a traffic stop.

Police in Weatherford near Fort Worth say officer Chris Bumpas was conducting the stop Thursday evening when he discovered there was a warrant for the arrest of one of three people in the vehicle.

Police said in a statement that the man became combative and struck the officer with a flashlight.

The second officer couldn’t subdue the suspect using a stun gun and fired multiple shots, striking Bumpas and the suspect.

Police say Bumpas is recovering from surgery on his abdomen. The suspect, whose name hasn’t been released, is in guarded condition at a hospital.

  1. Its a good start. Hope more of the piggies turn on each other. Lessens the burden on the rest of us when it comes time to hunt feral pigs.

    1. In this case one pig shot another by accident. It would be nice if there were a trend of them turning on one another, but generally they stick together like glue.

What does seem to be a trend is police incompetence with weapons. Most pigs tend to be piss-poor shots because they typically only shoot a couple hundred training rounds per year.

  2. The anti-law enforcement sentiment here is concerning. Everyone sees it as all cops are overbearing power hungry brown shirts. Some are, some are not. Just think about the way all gun owners are looked at by the actions of a few. The spot light shines on the ones who stand out in a negative way. There are some good and some bad in every group in life.

    1. What is concerning is people like you who can’t deduce the obvious. To begin with, these police forces, outside the Sheriff’s Departments, were never sanctioned by we the people. They cannot be because they pretend to police the people, who, under self-governess and the common law, police themselves. To pretend that there are only a few bad cops is bullshit, otherwise there would be no bad cops because the good cops would have removed them instead of covering up for and protecting their acts of treachery.
We are realists here. We the people in the Constitution granted the federal government, which was supposed to be sealed in a ten mile square, no authority to govern us in our private lives, in fact the 9th Article to our Bill of Rights forbids it.
In short, you don’t know what you are talking about.

      1. I agree with your points about the constitution and government. I was a deputy Sheriff for several years so I look at it from both sides. True, there are lots of bad apples in the barrel of law enforcement. I am not defending them, I am simply saying I don’t wish harm or death to anyone who hasn’t been tried and convicted based on the rights granted by the same constitution that you quote.

        1. There comes a point when the situation becomes so bad, you defy it, walk away, or acquiesce. We believe in the right to trial in the common law, but our apparatus, the common law court, has been usurped and removed by traitors within. At what point do we have to say that the police that were never supposed to exist have become Tories who have taken up arms against us? Even in the realm of sheriff’s deputies, the oath to protect and defend the people is violated routinely as most of those who take the oath do not understand the common law and wantonly operate in the admiralty.
Indeed, I would prefer trials but when the perpetrators are actively shooting at and trying to kill us and our access to our right to prosecute in the common law has been removed, what is expected? Our people are being killed across this nation, daily and absolutely without cause. Shot because they had a signal light out and some coward with a badge and a gun got scared for no perceivable reason and then the rest of the cops protect the murderer.
I don’t believe in just executing anybody, but when somebody is trying to kill me for exercising my rights, that is force majur. All law is dismissed and my right to simply live takes precedence.
It is hard for me to believe that there is any man or woman alive who was in law enforcement in any quarter who didn’t violate people’s rights by the scores, as they conducted themselves in the admiralty.
For those who identified the wrong, removed themselves from it, and now stand for the Bill of Rights and common law, I would bear you no grudge, as you acted out of an ignorance, deliberately perpetrated through lies and deceit. Same goes for the military. But there are still out there by the scores, those who know exactly what they are doing and embrace the treason against the rest of us. And when they start shooting at us for this fraudulent occupation, they simply become an enemy combatant and we have the absolute right to fight for our lives.

    2. No one reading this would ever point and click on a friendly. Its all about training and we have been trained how and when to send rounds down range. This is what happens when you have Stratfor training departments with unqualified units in san marcos.
