Toledo Has no Safe Water Prepare for a Water Shortage Now Before you Regret it

Health, Wealth, and Happiness

As of August 2 2014, Toledo, Ohio has no water because of very toxic levels from algae. They can’t drink even boiled water. It is even recommended that they don’t shower in it!  A state of emergency has been declared.  500,000 people without safe water – so many residents are going berserk.

Video here – which shows how one woman got rashes on her hands within ten minutes of washing them: http://www.clickondetroit.com/news/toledo-parts-of-monroe-county-under-do-not-drink-water-advisory/27278530

Mycrocystis aeruginosa is a common unicellular colonial cyanobacteria found in fresh water environments. This bacterium produces harmful toxins that create health risks for populations living and harvesting in contaminated areas where M. aeruginosa blooms. Blooms occur when nutrient levels spike in aquatic environments or nutrient levels are selective toward Microcystis aeruginosa.

Animals such as family dogs that swim in the water containing these neurotoxins, not even drinking it, have been known to come out the water and just DIE due to the neurotoxins being absorbed through the skin. This has happened repeatedly where these toxic algae blooms have occurred.

This has been a recurrent problem in some areas such that a few large lakes in Ohio now often have NO SWIMMING alerts out due to the NEUROTOXIN levels caused by the algae blooms.Lake Erie has been seeing a large increase in the summer algae blooms over the last few years since farm waste and excess fertilizer concentrations in the lake have gone up dramatically.

Here are some comments posted on the forums about the current water crisis:

“Media: Desperation and despair setting in as people search for drinkable water.

“Only a matter of hours with lines around the block and no more water on the shelves, this is a justice moment for me and my family. They are watching the clips of this in complete silence, being prepared isn’t so stupid anymore is it.”

“I live in Toledo and learned a lot about people today. I saw most people sharing and helping each other. I met up with random strangers and discussed where and how to overcome this issue. That was good. I also saw the bad, greedy people buying up the supply and trying to make money off of need. Not to mention the asshole store owners trying to price whore everyone.

“My biggest disgusting moment occurred at Walgreens. They have one of their largest distribution hubs on the suburb of Toledo. They leak to the media that trucks full of pallets of water are on way to the stores now. This is right when there was no water anywhere within a 100 mile radius of Toledo. It was 10am. People went to the stores including myself and we’re told trucks in route. While in line a lady comes over the intercom and says “Hey all u people waiting for water, why not come over to the makeup counter and get a great deal on some new Loreal beauty products”. We were given no ETA on the water deliveries and an hour passed. Another similar announcement happened but this time they said they don’t have any idea when the water I’d coming but buy other things! I was totally disgusted by this tacky pitching to people that only walked in the damn place for need. After 2 hours if waiting most people got pissed and left. A brutal disgusting display of another greedy corporate giant.”

Don’t let this happen to you. Prepare now! It’s simple:

1. Get a reverse osmosis filter. They are about $150 from Amazon. Reverse osmosis removes virtually everything, even fluoride. (Change filters about every 6 months). Reverse Osmosis even works for RADIOACTIVITY, because water does not get radioactive. It’s only the junk IN the water that is radioactive!

Note: You do not have to install these filters under your sink. You can connect the input to your faucet and put the output into a 5 gallon water jug.

2. Get 5 gallon BPA-free gallon jugs from Amazon.

3. Get a hand pump for $10 from ebay. You could also get a nice cooler for your jugs. They make models now where you don’t have to lift them up and turn them upside down (although this won’t work in a blackout – so make sure you get the hand pump).

4. Second best after reverse osmosis is a Katadyn filter. These filters do not use a reverse osmosis membrane. They use microporus ceramic and are used by the military and for outdoor camping. They are the best in the world.

This is all covered in my book, You’re not fat, You’re Toxic. As is the following advice:

Do NOT Use Distilled Water:

Unfortunately, while distilling does leave behind some dangerous toxins such as heavy metals, it actually concentrates some other dangerous chemicals that cause cancer and other health problems, called DPBs. DPB stands for disinfection byproduct. DPBs are chemicals that form when chemicals that are used for disinfecting, such as chlorine, react with organic matter which is also in the water.

Scientists have found that DPBs are over 10,000 times more poisonous than chlorine, which is very poisonous to start with.

  1. Were I live I took ice auger 6 inch and atatched a pipe to it. And used it to bore a hole 26 foot deep. Heavy black gumbo, 4 foot yellow clay 3 foot, white clay 4 foot then sand and the last 3 foot a course sand. I dropped a 4 foot sand point down the hole on 1&1/2 inch pipe and filled the hole in with a sand & small gravel mix. Then a pitcher pump on top. After some pumping and a sand refill on top a small slab was poured 2- 40 lb. bags concreete . Good water, but only about 20 gal. a hour before she run’s dry. Doing it myself under $300 total cost. But a family should think about how much you can do with 20 gal. of water a hour as well. In a real emergency you could pay 5 gal. a hour for people to pump for you. And turn a proffet on water sales.
