Tucker Carlson sounded off on what he saw as the limiting of free expression by the left.
He said he is still in shock from what happened in Charlottesville, Va. over the wekend.
But, Carlson said that some of the reaction to it shows that the First Amendment’s protections may be waning in the eyes of the next generation.
“The only thing that could make what happened in Charlottesville worse [would be to] let a small number of people in power make America less tolerant and less free in its aftermath.
He said that the same phenomenon happened after 9/11, when there was heightened support for increased domestic NSA activity and the like.
Carlson said that tech companies like Google and GoDaddy kicked white supremacist website The Daily Stormer off their servers.
He said that “no one is weeping” for the abhorrent site, but that their predicament can be a slippery slope for other less radical factions.
Carlson said that, if certain people take power, sites like FoxNews.com and Catholic Charities could be considered distasteful and thereby censored.
“Today’s political opponents could easily become tomorrow’s designated Nazis,” Carlson said.
