Gunshots were fired outside the U.S. Capitol this afternoon, injuring several people including a law enforcement officer, according to reports. A lockdown order was issued for the Capitol, but it was lifted later.

The U.S. House of Representatives and Senate were in session when the gunshots were heard. Police called in a Medevac helicopter, a Senate aide and a U.S. Capitol policeman said.

The Senate chamber was locked with staff inside. Senate leaders were locked in their offices.

The shots were fired near the Hart Senate Office Building at 2nd St and Constitution Avenue Northeast, only a few blocks from the U.S. Supreme Court.

Emergency vehicles swarmed the area after an order given over the speaker system told people to shelter in place because of an active shooting situation, CNN reported.

CNN, citing an intelligence source, reported that the incident began when a vehicle was chased from the White House to the Capitol, where there was an exchange of gunfire.

The United States Capitol was placed on lockdown mid-Thursday afternoon following reports of shots fired in the vicinity of the chamber.

The reports of gunshots were unconfirmed. The House recessed shortly after indications of gunshots. The Senate went into a quorum call — that is, dispensed momentarily with its official business — shortly thereafter.

Missouri Sen. Claire McCaskill tweeted: Shots fired outside the Capitol. We are in temporary lock down.

Colorado Rep. Jared Polis tweeted: There had been some short of shooting here at the capital, we r on lockdown awaiting more info

Congress has been locked for the past week and a half in a contentious debate over funding the government, a disagreement in which contributed to a government shutdown that came to pass at the end of Monday.

Last night, Wisconsin Rep. Sean Duffy, R, was the victim of a “minor incident” outside of the Capitol complex.

“A random individual, unknown to the Congressman, began screaming at him and grabbed his arm,” a spokesperson for Duffy said in describing the incident. “Mr. Duffy was unharmed. He reported the incident in compliance with House security procedures. Congressman Duffy has requested no further action be taken and there will be no further comment on the matter at this time.”

On September 16, a deadly shooting occurred blocks south of the U.S. Capitol complex which contributed to a partial lockdown of the Capitol at that time.

    1. I agree. this is what i wrote on another page here:
Gotta be another false flag……..here is why: every single one of these shootings in the last 2 yrs has involved someone with “mental” issues. the arizona shooting, the aurora colo. shooting, the naval yard shooting, and now this one. all have one thing in common: the shooter was being treated for mental issues/illness. let me tell you why this is important now: mkultra and other mindcontrol programs by the nsa/cia all elicit candidates who succumb to mental illness from all the torture and mind control tricks played on them. This situation was also NOT covered by the slimestream media on any of the common tv channels(covert op/training op which went live).

    1. They’re going to pull out all the stops to prevent some of these protests that are coming up & to justify their thuggery of Americans.

  1. Yeah, right. Breaking news from the Nothing But Crap network? I’d sooner believe a literal Godzilla has emerged from the radioactive sludge of Fukushima and is now wreaking untold havoc on the citizens of Tokyo.

Even if it is real, I’d be hard pressed to think it wasn’t a false flag. This so-called sham of an administration is entirely too predictable.

    1. Remember; they’re good at painting a picture for one to see, but at the same time pulling sh!t somewhere else. Big-time hoodrat scammers; don’t keep your eyes’ on the cards too long.

  2. “The Senate chamber was locked with staff inside. Senate leaders were locked in their offices.”

Now if they’d just lock up the damn lobbyists and White House administrative staff, this could be the start of something good…… Yeah, I know, I’m dreamin’. Sigh.
