KENMORE, N.Y. — A Buffalo area police officer has resigned after allegedly drawing a gun on a man while working a side job as a bowling alley security guard.

The Kenmore village board accepted officer Jeffrey R. Mang’s resignation June 3, the Buffalo News reported Saturday.

Mang, a nephew of the village mayor, was accused of putting the barrel of his gun to the head of a bowler in February during an argument over a $21 refund.

On-duty police arrived and arrested the man and his friend on charges of harassment and disorderly conduct.

Officials placed Mang on leave and suspended him after the men told them what happened, the newspaper reported.

Their charges will now likely be dismissed. They chose not to press criminal charge against Mang.

Mang did not respond to the newspaper’s interview requests.

  1. Yes, the guy couldn’t get enough of his “power trip” with his day job abusing people, so he takes on a Security Guard position to hone his harassment skills. There’s a lot of that attitude out there in our current law infringement agencies.
