WaPo Releases Report on Russian Propaganda Sites

Gateway Pundit – by Jim Hoft

The Washington Post published a “fake news” story on how the Russians used American websites to push anti-Hillary Clinton propaganda in the 2016 election.

The left is very focused on “fake news” websites after Hillary Clinton suffered a shocking loss in the November 8th election to Republican Donald Trump.

They are trying to blame “fake news” and not their lousy candidate for the loss.

The Washington Post reported on Thursday there are now scientific studies that show how the Russians influenced the 2016 election.

The flood of “fake news” this election season got support from a sophisticated Russian propaganda campaign that created and spread misleading articles online with the goal of punishing Democrat Hillary Clinton, helping Republican Donald Trump and undermining faith in American democracy, say independent researchers who tracked the operation.

Russia’s increasingly sophisticated propaganda machinery — including thousands of botnets, teams of paid human “trolls,” and networks of Web sites and social-media accounts — echoed and amplified right-wing sites across the Internet as they portrayed Clinton as a criminal hiding potentially fatal health problems and preparing to hand control of the nation to a shadowy cabal of global financiers. The effort also sought to heighten the appearance of international tensions and promote fear of looming hostilities with nuclear-armed Russia.

Two teams of independent researchers found that the Russians exploited American-made technology platforms to attack U.S. democracy at a particularly vulnerable moment, as an insurgent candidate harnessed a wide range of grievances to claim the White House. The sophistication of the Russian tactics may complicate efforts by Facebook and Google to crack down on “fake news,” as they have vowed to do after widespread complaints about the problem.

The Washington Post then cites the Propaganda or Not website as their source for the list of Russian propaganda sites.

The list includes several popular conservative websites:

The Drudge Report
Zerohedge
Infowars
Wikileaks
PrisonPlanet
American Lookout (Gateway Pundit’s sister site)

The entire list is here and includes several conservative websites along with several satirical fake news websites.

So now the far left researchers are declaring war on The Drudge Report?
Seriously?

The Drudge Report recorded 1.47 billion page views in July, the highest traffic in the conservative aggegation site’s 21-year history.

The Drudge Report is undoubtedly the most influential website in America today. Matt Drudge, its proprietor, leans right and promoted Donald Trump through the primary and general election.

For years Democrats have wanted to crack down Drudge for years.
Now they’re labeling The Drudge Report a Russian propaganda site.
Wow!

  1. Fake news “”helping Donald Trump and undermining faith in American democracy.” First off, we’re a Republic, secondly, politicians need no help “undermining faith” in American democracy, that bridge has already been burnt.

So when these a-holes point the finger at anyone else, it’s just to take the spotlight off themselves.

“Yerp, the Russians did it!” It really gets old after awhile.

  2. Does it matter what the Washington Post says anymore? They’ve been shoveling BS for your entire life, and since you now know that, why would you turn to them for information?

The communists (Zionists) are in panic-mode because no one believes their BS anymore, so they’ve invented this “fake news” strategy in an attempt to restore some of their lost credibility.

    It’s not going to work.

  3. I keep looking to see FTT listed on ANY article as a ‘fake news’ site.

I’ve come to the conclusion that they’re deathly afraid to give us any ‘undue exposure’ that could bring more readers here.

    COMMIE jEWB#TCH COWARDS!

  4. …the jew boys don’t like it when the cattle begin thinking for themselves…
their control is threatened. ….maybe someday soon these duplicitous dual nationals will be deported to their ghetto homeland with no right of appeal… and we will have peace….

    1. And that “homeland” would be? Stolen property given to you by a thief, doesn’t become your property if the thief gives it to you.

“And we will have peace”….. Bwaaaahaaa, nope, you might find out why they needed intercontinental ballistic missile capability reaching deep into continental USA. The heart of their best friend and ally.

And do remember, that their henchmen already passed a law, that any nuke exploding in the USA HAS to come from IRAN, and is an automatic war declaration ON Iran. Oh well, all a slave has left is dreams.

  5. Business as usual.

Claim any an everything of your opponent. Do not supply proof, but base all on your authority. Let the opponent defend themselves against your claims. When they do, use their defense against them as if their defense is an acknowledgment of your claims. When they do not defend, make more claims especially if you actually do what you claim of them. As long as you manage to stay in the offense, you don’t have to defend yourself.

  6. Wow, they just did us a favor and made a long list of great places for the sheep to go to start waking up! Anyone with half a brain will get useful info from a lot of those sites and the others are hopeless anyway.
