The Electoral College will cast their votes. They’ll either follow the rules that have governed every election in American history, or they’ll bow to liberal pressure and steal the election from President-Elect Trump. It’s unlikely that enough electoral voters will defect to keep Trump out of office, but the possibility is one that should raise some concern.
To use a sports metaphor, this could be anybody’s game.
Numerous electors in Red States have reported being under pressure not follow through with the wishes of their states and vote for Trump.
Electors have faced pleas from Hollywood celebrities like Martin Sheen, asking them not to vote for Trump. Of course, Martin Sheen raised Charlie Sheen, so that kind of tells you all you need to know about his judgment.
But it gets way worse than that. Many electors have reported receiving death threats and being subjected to harassment.
The Detroit News interviewed Michigan elector Mike Banerian:
Trump’s opponents have deluged Banerian and other GOP electors with pleas and nasty emails to reverse course and cast their ballots for Clinton, according to the Michigan Republican Party.
“You have people saying ‘you’re a hateful bigot, I hope you die,’ ” he said. “I’ve had people talk about shoving a gun in my mouth and blowing my brains out. And I’ve received dozens and dozens of those emails. Even the non-threatening-my-life emails are very aggressive.”
The Detroit News verified one message containing a death wish and another containing a death threat, in which the person told Banerian he would “put a bullet” in his mouth. Banerian said he deleted the rest of the emails and messages “because as you can imagine they’re clogging up my email.”
So far, only one elector has publicly stated that he won’t be voting for Trump. Christopher Suprun got his 5 minutes of fame with an Op-Ed he wrote for the New York Times, explaining why he will be a faithless representative of his state, Texas:
I do not think presidents-elect should be disqualified for policy disagreements. I do not think they should be disqualified because they won the Electoral College instead of the popular vote. However, now I am asked to cast a vote on Dec. 19 for someone who shows daily he is not qualified for the office…
…The United States was set up as a republic. Alexander Hamilton provided a blueprint for states’ votes. Federalist 68 argued that an Electoral College should determine if candidates are qualified, not engaged in demagogy, and independent from foreign influence. Mr. Trump shows us again and again that he does not meet these standards. Given his own public statements, it isn’t clear how the Electoral College can ignore these issues, and so it should reject him.
The Washington Post puts it differently:
Pressure on members of the electoral college to select someone other than Donald Trump has grown dramatically — and noisily — in recent weeks…
…The role of elector has intensified this year, in the wake of a bitter election in which Trump lost the popular vote to Democrat Hillary Clinton by a margin of nearly 3 million votes and the revelation of a secret CIA assessment that Russia interfered to help Trump get elected.
Amid the uncertainty caused by Russian influence, 10 electors — nine Democrats and one Republican — asked for an intelligence briefing to get more information about Moscow’s role.
Geez, enough with Russia, already.

…we know that at least one Texas elector, Chris Suprun, has vowed to go rogue tomorrow and anxious eyes will be waiting to see if anyone decides to join him…
…The next thing to watch is whether any Democrat electors will cast protest votes. A small group of Democratic electors had vowed to join Larry Lessig’s coup attempt by throwing their support behind an alternative Republican candidate. While this now seems like a remote possibility, it is something to watch for…
…With 29 states and the District of Columbia binding their electors by law, it will also be interesting to see if anyone in those states choose to defect, and if so, what penalties will be levied upon them…
…Finally, when all the voting is said and done, all eyes will be watching how the candidates and their respective parties react. Will Trump launch a massive tweet storm blasting “faithless electors” and/or will Democrats finally tone down the “Russian hacking” rhetoric and calls to scrap the Electoral College system? Somehow we suspect that finally admitting they ran a failed candidate that was doomed to lose from the start is not a viable alternative for the talking heads of the leftist media…so we’re somewhat less than hopeful.
If the Electoral College goes rogue, expect all hell to break loose.
If something crazy happens tomorrow, what we saw during the aftermath of the election will be a walk in the park compared to how angry Americans will react. And if all goes as planned, we can probably expect another flurry of that could last until Inauguration Day.
The California State Militia agrees. They’ve issued the following memo:

The official alert level will be set to Yellow as of 22:00 on December 18th 2016 and will remain there till 06:00 December 22nd 2016.
Things you should do when in a yellow alert or before if one is being called early.
· Keep all cars at no less than ½ tank of gas if not ¾ of a tank.
· Go and buy groceries that can get you throw the yellow alert time.
· Take $200.00 to $1000.00 in cash out of the bank and keep near you. (small bills are best)
· Limit how far away from home your family is.
· Keep good tabs on your family and know there plains.
· Keep in contact with your Community Squad.
· Make an effort to check your email and other communication sources often.
