Winter Weather Wreaks Havoc for the Holidays

7 dead as unusual weather mix sweeps nation, threatens holiday travelers.

The weekend before Christmas, mother nature is gifting — or, rather, clobbering — the United States with a little bit of everything. Ice storms, snow, flooding, thunderstorms, tornadoes and record-setting warmth are all in store, and with this maddening mix comes a massive headache for more than 94 million expected holiday travelers.  

An eclectic mix of severe or record-breaking weather! Unless you’re on the West Coast, odds are the weather outside is frightful and complex. My apologies, pooch & I had a sunny, mild hike this morning!

Mother nature seems to be in a bah humbug mood, turning flat-out dangerous. More than 4,000 flights have been delayed, 591 have been cancelled altogether. “I’ll be home for Christmas” is not being sung by those stuck at cold airports.
