A Florida eighth-grader has been arrested on a felony charge after playing a prank on a teacher he didn’t like, officials said Sunday.
Authorities say 14-year-old Domanik Green broke into a school computer at the Paul R. Smith Middle School in Holiday and changed the background of the teacher’s computer to one that displayed an image of two men kissing, the Tampa Bay Times reported. On August 29, 2014, United States Border Patrol Agents from the Fort Brown Border Patrol Station, while in performance of their official duties, encountered an armed individual, identified as John Frederick FOERSTER, in the brush. During this encounter, FOERSTER turned and pointed a firearm at a USBP Agent, who intern [sic] fired several shots at FOERSTER. FOERSTER is a member of “Rusty’s Rangers,” an armed citizen militia group patrolling the border of the United States and Mexico. A popular visa program allegedly is being misused by U.S. companies to lay off thousands of American workers and replace them with foreign labor.

Hebron (Palestinian Territories) (AFP) – Israeli troops shot dead a Palestinian man in the West Bank on Friday when they opened fire during the funeral of a Palestinian recently released from Israeli jail, medics said.

ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Police say an officer is in critical condition after being shot Friday morning by a suspect that remains on the loose.

A tornado slammed the tiny Illinois town of Fairdale Thursday, killing one person, injuring seven and destroying homes across the town, authorities said.

BOSTON—Nearly two years after two pressure-cooker bombs ripped through a crowd of unsuspecting spectators near the finish line of the 2013 Boston Marathon, a federal jury found Dzhokhar Tsarnaev guilty for his role in the deadly attacks, which killed three and injured nearly 300.
The decision came a day and a half after seven women and five men began deliberations in the first phase of the trial and after 17 days of emotional and often gruesome testimony and evidence in the case. Jurors repeatedly saw horrific photos and videos of the bloody aftermath of the bombs. They also heard heart-wrenching testimony from survivors, including the father of the youngest victim of the attacks—8-year-old Martin Richard–whose body was literally blown apart by the second bomb. A couple who are both school bus drivers with ties to the Michigan Militia embezzled at least $50,000 from the woman’s mother and used it to buy an arsenal of firearms that included a machine gun and 17,000 rounds of ammunition, authorities say.
Sarah Nick, 32, and her 33-year-old husband, Steven Nick, embezzled the money from Sarah Nick’s 67-year-old mother, who has serious health problems, Genesee County Sheriff Robert Pickell said at a news conference Tuesday at which he displayed the weapons. HOUSTON (AP) — A federal judge on Tuesday denied a Justice Department request to lift a temporary hold on President Barack Obama’s executive action that sought to shield millions of immigrants from deportation.
U.S. District Judge Andrew Hanen refused to stay his Feb. 16 decision that granted a preliminary injunction requested by 26 states. The U.S. government wants the injunction lifted — allowing Obama’s action to proceed — while it appeals Hanen’s ruling to the 5th U.S. Circuit Court in New Orleans. PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – A man and his seven children found dead in their Maryland home Monday were poisoned by carbon monoxide from a generator they were using after the power company cut off their electricity, a couple who identified themselves as the man’s mother and stepfather said.
