This past weekend it was a distinct honor to have participated in the liberation of our war memorials in Washington, D.C.  Keep in mind the pretext of closing these sites was because of “budget constraints.” They could not afford to leave open that which has always been left open, but they could afford a massive police presence working overtime. They could afford thousands of rented barricades and printing of thousands of signs. They could afford untold millions for Obama vacations, ‘Obama phones,’ expanded welfare and disability rolls. The United States is loosening controls over military exports, in a shift that former U.S. officials and human rights advocates say could increase the flow of American-made military parts to the world’s conflicts and make it harder to enforce arms sanctions.

Come tomorrow, thousands of parts of military aircraft, such as propeller blades, brake pads and tires will be able to be sent to almost any country in the world, with minimal oversight – even to some countries subject to U.N. arms embargos. Immigrant-rights protesters have chained themselves in front of an detention facility in Eloy, Ariz., and planned to blockade the main federal immigration office in Phoenix later Monday, hoping to stop anyone from being deported.

France will boost its troop presence in the Central African Republic by the end of the year under a forthcoming U.N. resolution to help prevent the country from spiralling out of control, Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius said on Sunday.

Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius had three-and-a-half years to build the Obamacare exchanges. Now, GOP House members in charge of oversight want answers as to how the online system that cost taxpayers over half-a-billion dollars has failed on such a grand scale.

On Thursday, House GOP members of the Committee on Energy and Commerce sent aletter to Sebelius requesting an oversight briefing to occur no later than October 16th. WASHINGTON (AP) — For the second straight year, millions of Social Security recipients, disabled veterans and federal retirees can expect historically small increases in their benefits come January.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Dozens of medical marijuana dispensaries in Los Angeles have closed, and the city attorney says more will be shutting their doors soon, following a voter-approved crackdown.

Thirty-eight pot shops that do not comply with a municipal ballot measure approved earlier this year are in the process of being shuttered, City Attorney Mike Feuer said.
