FORT BLISS, Texas — Houthi rebels in Yemen fired at least seven Burqan 2H ballistic missiles at Saudi Arabia on Sunday.

The Saudis attempted to intercept the missiles with five US-made Patriot missile defense systems, but the intercepts appear to have failed.

Sixty years ago, John Leo Brady was tried for murder in a Maryland court. Brady never denied helping to plan a robbery with his accomplice, Donald Boblit, but insisted that Boblit had pulled the trigger when the scheme went awry. Brady’s lawyer argued that his client should therefore be sentenced to life in prison, not death. The jury disagreed and voted to execute him. Mineral County has sent a tax bill to the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture, claiming the federal government has “failed its obligation” to citizens of the county.

“The loss of funding from the federal government has left Mineral County with no other alternative than to assess the Federal Government for their portion of the property taxes on the 640,183 acres they manage,” commissioners wrote to Secretary Sonny Perdue in a letter approved and mailed Friday.

In an undercover investigation by Channel 4 News, the company’s chief executive Alexander Nix said the British firm secretly campaigns in elections across the world.
