Multiple shots were fired at an elementary school in DeKalb County, Georgia, prompting the evacuation of children and staff. A sole suspect was taken into custody.

While no injuries have been reported, a 20-year-old white male dressed in black and armed with an AK-47 entered Ronald E. McNair Discovery Learning Academy outside of Atlanta and fired several dozen shots from inside the building. In a widely expected move, President Obama today canceled next month’s joint U.S.-Egyptian military exercises, saying “our traditional cooperation cannot continue as usual when civilians are being killed in the streets and rights are being rolled back.”
