More than 50 victims and survivors of the June 2016 massacre at a Florida nightclub sued the gunman’s employer and widow on Wednesday, blaming them for failing to prevent the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history.

The lawsuit filed in the U.S. Southern District of Florida accused the security firm that hired shooter Omar Mateen of ignoring his comments supporting violence prior to the rampage that killed 49 and injured dozens at a gay nightclub in Orlando.   Continue reading “Florida nightclub shooting victims sue gunman’s employer, widow”

Dozens of California communities have experienced recent rates of childhood lead poisoning that surpass those of Flint, Michigan, with one Fresno locale showing rates nearly three times higher, blood testing data obtained by Reuters shows.

The data shows how lead poisoning affects even a state known for its environmental advocacy, with high rates of childhood exposure found in a swath of the Bay Area and downtown Los Angeles. And the figures show that, despite national strides in eliminating lead-based products, hazards remain in areas far from the Rust Belt or East Coast regions filled with old housing and legacy industry.   Continue reading “Lead poisoning afflicts neighborhoods across California”

It’s official. As tragically revealing as the move might be, the rusty patched bumble bee has now joined the grizzly bear, gray wolf, northern spotted owl, and some 700 others on the endangered species list — the first bee ever to garner those protections in the continental United States.

Once abundant in the grasslands and prairies in 31 states in the East and Midwest, the rusty patched bumble bee’s population has been decimated by as much as 95 percent by some estimates, and now exists only in isolated pockets in 12 states and the province of Ontario, Canada.   Continue reading “It’s Official — First Bee Has Just Been Added to Endangered Species List”

The United Nations marked the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination on Tuesday by telling governments around the world that regulating “hate speech” is part of the strategy needed to “stand up for someone’s rights.”

Governments around the world “have a legal obligation to stop hate speech and hate crimes,” UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein reportedly said Tuesday, adding a call “on people everywhere to ‘stand up for someone’s rights,’” the press release about the event said.   Continue reading “United Nations: Regulating ‘Hate’ Speech ‘Not an Attack on Free Speech’”

Apparently no one’s baby or house in Malibu is being properly cared for without the labor of illegal aliens.

FYI: In 2010, Malibu had a median household income of $133,869.

From Sacramento Bee: Taking a stand in the national debate over illegal immigration, Malibu has joined the ranks of sanctuary cities. The City Council of the celebrity enclave voted 3-2 this month to approve a resolution prohibiting use of city funds and resources to enforce federal civil immigration law.   Continue reading “Malibu, California becomes a sanctuary city”

The Ontario government is asking chiefs of police across the province to follow the lead set by the Ottawa Police Service and audit the use of reinforced gloves by their officers.

Ottawa police Chief Charles Bordeleau ordered an internal audit after a CBC News investigation uncovered that the reinforced gloves worn by the officer charged in the death of Abdirahman Abdi are being considered a weapon by Ontario’s police watchdog, the Special Investigation Unit (SIU).    Continue reading “Minister asks Ontario police services to audit use of reinforced gloves”

The organization is North Carolinians For Immigration Reform and Enforcement (NCFIRE) (ncfire.info, facebook, twitter, gab).

For several years, James Johnson, its head, has been researching very serious crimes committed by illegal immigrants in North Carolina.

Some people will view his effort as partisan and political from the get-go, and therefore they will automatically reject what Johnson has discovered.   Continue reading “Interview: documenting illegal-immigrant pedophile crimes”

South Dakota — The battle was lost, but apparently the war continues on for water protectors who are still trying to stop the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL).

The Associated Press is reporting that suspected vandals, possibly individuals from the #NoDAPL campaign, have burned a hole in the side of the pipeline with what appears to have been a blowtorch.   Continue reading ““Vandals” Take Blowtorch to DAPL Just Days Before It Goes Operational”

The U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday put new restrictions on presidential powers, limiting a president’s authority to staff certain top government posts in a case involving an appointment to the National Labor Relations Board.

The court decided 6-2 to uphold a lower court’s ruling that then-President Barack Obama exceeded his legal authority with his temporary appointment of an NLRB general counsel in 2011.   Continue reading “Supreme Court reins in president’s appointment powers”

Lending in the U.S. by foreign banks has started to contract.

Total loans and leases by foreign-related banks fell at an annual pace of about 0.75% in the first week of March, according to the most recent data from the Federal Reserve. It was the third week in a row in which loans contracted — and the first contraction since 2013.   Continue reading “Foreign Banks Retreat from Lending to U.S.”

With the fighting against ISIS increasingly confined to densely populated cities like Mosul and Raqqa, the US air war against them continues to escalate precipitously, with record numbers of airstrikes in recent months, and the coalition dropping over 7,000 munitions on Iraq and Syria in just the last two months.

Air Force Central Command spokeswoman Capt. Kathleen Atanasoff attributed to the continued increase in strikes to the effort to support Iraq’s invasion of Mosul, a city of well over a million people. With the fighting there heavily confined to residential neighborhoods, however, the heavy use of airstrikes must raise concern of large civilian tolls.   Continue reading “U.S. Launches Over 7,000 Airstrikes In Iraq, Syria In Past Two Months”

If someone walks into a hospital and claims that they’re being tracked, and that they need to have a tracking device removed, there’s a pretty good chance that they’re going to be sent to a mental institution instead. However, according to a doctor who wished to remain anonymous to protect his patient, that very situation occurred last October and it didn’t end how you might expect.   Continue reading “They Thought She Was Crazy: Doctor Extracts RFID Chip From Sex Trafficking Victim”

In 2012, J. C. Penney’s CEO Ronald B. Johnson had the brilliant idea to improve the century-old family store by pandering to homosexuals — a move that, in a time of the decline of brick-and-mortar stores, isn’t smart on the grounds of simple market calculation because homosexuals make up only 2-3% of the U.S. population (see “Something is rotten at J C Penney”):   Continue reading “JC Penney in death spiral from gay-pandering: 138 stores to close by end of April”

New York, NY — For the first time in history, families of victims of the 9/11 terror attacks are using a new law and are going after Saudi Arabia in a lawsuit for their role in the attacks. In this landmark lawsuit, the families of 800 victims are suing Saudi Arabia for aiding the hijackers.

For more than a decade and a half, Presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush kept secret the alleged role Saudi Arabia played in the September 11 attacks on America. Becuase of the cozy relationship the US has with the terrorist nation, special interests within the government have chosen to protect their Saudi friends instead of telling Americans the truth about what happened that fateful day.   Continue reading “800 Families File Lawsuit Against Saudi Arabia for Role in 9/11”

There are all kinds of survival and disaster books that will teach you about finding food in the wilderness. America still has a few tiny shreds of freedom. For instance, when faced with a corrupt two party system that only offers the illusion of choice, we still have the freedom to not participate in the charade. We can still stay home on election day, and refuse to vote for the lesser of two evils.

Unfortunately that freedom is also under assault. New York Assemblywoman Deborah Glick has introduced a bill that would establish compulsory voting in the city. Those who don’t vote, would be fined $10 unless they have a valid excuse, and those fines would be used to improve the electoral process. As for what constitutes a valid excuse or how exactly this money would be used, the bill doesn’t say.   Continue reading “Land of the Free? Legislator Wants to Fine New Yorkers Who Don’t Vote”
