Democrat Gov. John Kitzhaber on Thursday signed legislation, Senate Bill 281, into law to allow patients with post-traumatic stress to be eligible to engage in the therapeutic use of cannabis.

The new Oregon law expands the state’s existing medical marijuana program, initially enacted by voters in 1998, to include post-traumatic stress as a state-qualified illness for which marijuana may be recommended.   Continue reading “Oregon: Governor Signs Measure to Expand State’s Medical Cannabis Program to Include Patients With Post Traumatic Stress”

The Russian president saw his opportunity to pluck the fruits of Moscow’s success in backing the Syrian-Hizballah forces’ advances in major battles against rebels, notably at al Qusayr, and position Russian troops face to face with the Israeli army. They would constitute a barrier against any military intervention being mounted against the Assad regime from Israel.

UN Deputy Spokesman Farhan Hak said: “The UN would welcome Russia’s contribution to peacekeeping efforts in the region.”   Continue reading “Putin Offers Russian Peacekeepers In The Golan Heights”

Just a few weeks ago the honorable Congresswoman from San Francisco, Nancy Pelosi, made the stunning claim that health insurance in America would be cheaper than ever before. “Many of the initiatives that he passed are what are coming to bear now, including the Affordable Care Act,” she said at a recent press conference about legislation championed by the President. “The Affordable Care Act is bringing the cost of health care in our country down in both the public and private sector.”   Continue reading “Watch Nancy Pelosi Lie Through Her Teeth: “I Don’t Remember Saying that Everybody in the Country Would Have a Lower Premium””

The House of Representatives passed an amendment to HR 2217 – the Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Act of 2014 – that forbids DHS from purchasing any more ammunition until they report to Congress on their previous ammunition purchases. The amendment passed Tuesday with a bi-partisan majority of 234-192. The amendment was proposed, I’m happy to report, by my Congressman, Rep. Joe Biden, Patrick KennedyCNS News – by Terence P. Jeffrey

Speaking at the White House National Conference on Mental Health on Monday, Vice President Joe Biden told a sometimes serious and sometimes jocular story about the two brain surgeries he needed in 1988 to deal with cranial aneurysms.

Biden told the White House audience “they take a saw and they cut your head off” and “they literally had to take the top of my head off.” He also recounted that as he was being wheeled into surgery he asked the neurosurgeon, “What are my chances of getting off this table completely normal?” The surgeon told Biden he had a better chance of living—and that that chance was in the 35 to 50 percent range.   Continue reading “Brain Surgeon Told Biden He Had Less Than 50% Chance of ‘Being Completely Normal’”

SEATTLE — The occasional truth behind the popular saying “Don’t bring a knife (or, in this case a pointy metal stick) to a gun fight” was demonstrated at a South Seattle business last Tuesday.

According to the Seattle Police Department’s report for the incident, officers showed up at the business in the 2300 block of Rainier Avenue South after reports of an armed robbery only to find the store’s owner standing with his foot on the handcuffed suspect.   Continue reading “Robber’s pointy stick no match for store owner’s pistol”

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — After a slow but steady overnight search buoyed by the discovery of a woman in the rubble, rescue workers at the scene of a building collapse that killed six people took a temporary break Thursday in what had been a round-the-clock dig for additional victims.

A building under demolition collapsed onto a neighboring thrift store Wednesday morning, injuring at least 14 people, including a 61-year-old woman pulled from the debris nearly 13 hours later and hospitalized in critical condition.   Continue reading “Search halted in Pa. building collapse; 6 dead”

Perhaps one of Tesla’s most famous inventions deals directly with energy, something that is the talk of many social and political conversations and something that could be free to everyone if we used Nikola Tesla’s invention. Over the years, as more and more people begin to recognize the game being played in our society, Nikola Tesla and his story has been becoming more and more popular. This is natural as the increase in people educating themselves outside of the education system leads them to amazing bits of information that otherwise stay hidden. A perfect example are the inventions below which I came across when reading an article on Activist Post about some amazing inventions from Tesla. All of these inventions do and could make a huge impact on our lives.   Continue reading “10 Amazing Inventions From Nikola Tesla”

Stop the Drug War – by Phillip Smith

It’s judges gone wild! Plus sticky-fingered narcs, lying narcs, crooked deputies, and more! Let’s get to it:

In Philadelphia, a Philadelphia police officer was arrested May 23for stealing drugs and money from a suspected drug dealer. Officer Jeffrey Walker was arrested after an FBI sting operation in which agents recorded him bragging about how easy it was to rip off drug dealers. Walker and a federal informant concocted a scheme to plant cocaine in a suspect’s car, then rob him. Walker did just that, arresting the suspect, then entering his home and stealing $15,000. He was arrested with the cash in hand. At last report, Walker was still in federal custody.   Continue reading “This Week’s Corrupt Cops Stories”

Those elected to allegedly serve the interests of “the people” in the State of New York, as usual are working on a bill to protect some of their own: the police.

According to WIVB, legislators in the Empire State (fitting nickname) seek to make a crime to “annoy” a cop. The imaginative title of the bill: “An act to amend the penal law, in relation to aggravated harassment of peace officers or police officers.”   Continue reading “New York bill would make it a crime to ‘annoy’ police”
