Roman TQTaipan Magazine – by Brian Brzowski, MD

The history of the tourniquet dates at least as far back as 500 BC when the Romans designed a device to control bleeding during amputations.  It was made mostly of bronze and was lined with a bit of leather for “comfort”

Primarily because of the practical need to control bleeding during surgical procedures, other tourniquet designs proliferated during the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries.  These were quite simplistic and culminated in the development of a pneumatic tourniquet that is currently used thousands of times/day across the world to permit the creation of a bloodless field during procedures on both the upper and lower extremities.   Continue reading “Tourniquets 101”

Syrian OilInternational Business Times – by David Kashi

As the United States and Western Europe struggle to find a resolution to the bloody civil war in Syria, Russia has undertaken another geo-strategic gambit in the Eastern Mediterranean by boldly claiming a stake in a huge oil and gas field off Syria’s shores. Last week, a Russian state-controlled energy group, Soyuzneftegaz, struck a deal with the Syrian regime for rights to develop and produce oil and gas off Syria’s coast.

Under terms of that deal, Soyuzneftegaz will be permitted to perform offshore drilling, development and production activities in Syria’s territorial waters. The agreement covers 2,190 square kilometers in the Mediterranean waters, at an initial cost of some $90 million, all assumed by Soyuzneftegaz.   Continue reading “Moscow Enters The Eastern Mediterranean Gas Fields: What’s Really Behind Russia’s Energy Deal With Syria?”

Allen West Wrong on Nullification and Supremacy ClauseThe New American – by Joe Wolverton, II, J.D.

Allen West, former congressman and self-proclaimed “Guardian of the Republic,” is the latest “conservative” to publicly demonstrate an unacceptable misunderstanding of nullification.

In an article published January 3 on his website, West asks his readers whether state nullification of ObamaCare is “possible.” His uncertainty isn’t the worst of it, however.   Continue reading “Allen West Wrong on Nullification and Supremacy Clause”

Bible Based Alternative to Boy Scouts Launches After Policy Change for Gay ScoutsThe Blaze – by Fred Lucas

With the new year came a new group for youth, based on Christian principles, as a response to the Boy Scouts of America’s decision to allow gay scouts. Trail Life USA formally began operating Jan. 1.

The new organization’s motto is “Walk Worthy,” taken from Colossians 1:10 “that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.”   Continue reading “Bible-Based Alternative to Boy Scouts Launches After Policy Change for Gay Scouts”

Some of the greatest political events in America, perhaps the world, were initiated by Christians. When Christians fled Britain to gain freedom from the dictates of the Church of England, they went to America; populating a far-off land under dangerous, even deadly circumstances. They established religious freedom and infused the New World with the concept of liberty.

Once in America, Christians developed the earliest educational and humanitarian organizations, most of which survive today, though many have shed their religious cloak and have taken up the task of destroying religious endeavor.   Continue reading “A World of Destitution”

Today, 13 November 2013, WikiLeaks released the secret negotiated draft text for the entire TPP (Trans-Pacific Partnership) Intellectual Property Rights Chapter. The TPP is the largest-ever economic treaty, encompassing nations representing more than 40 per cent of the world’s GDP. The WikiLeaks release of the text comes ahead of the decisive TPP Chief Negotiators summit in Salt Lake City, Utah, on 19-24 November 2013. The chapter published by WikiLeaks is perhaps the most controversial chapter of the TPP due to its wide-ranging effects on medicines, publishers, internet services, civil liberties and biological patents. Significantly, the released text includes the negotiation positions and disagreements between all 12 prospective member states.   Continue reading “Secret Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPP)”

Key Fobs - Photo by ReplaceRemoteMy first thought was “how long would it be before thieves used this technology to get in?”

And was it set upon us as an easy way for the “Agencies” to have easy access to our stuff?”

End of the American Dream – by Michael Snyder

All over America, criminals are using improvised electronic devices to electronically unlock vehicles and steal whatever they find inside.  These “mystery gadgets” reportedly recreate the same signals that the key fobs that so many of us carry around send out.  As you will see below, footage is popping up nationwide of thieves using these “mystery gadgets” to remotely unlock car doors and disable alarm systems.  Once a car has been unlocked, it takes these thieves just a few moments to take what they want before leaving without a trace.  Continue reading “Thieves Are Using “Mystery Gadgets” To Electronically Unlock Cars And Steal What Is Inside”

“The absolute worst – and often irreparable – damage done to the Free World has been caused by the Kremlin’s disinformation operations designed to change the past.”– Lt. Gen. Ion Mihai Pacepa

The Oxford dictionary defines “disinformation” as false information that is intended to mislead, especially propaganda issued by a government organization to a rival power or the media.” The word originated in the 1950s with the Russian word, “dezinformatsiya.”   Continue reading “Falsifiers of History”

Activist Post – by Chris Carrington

The FAA has announced that six states have been chosen for the testing of commercial drones. Alaska, Nevada, New York, North Dakota, Texas and Virginia have been chosen to host sites that will develop safety protocols and operational rules for commercial drones. The program will be complete by the end of 2015.

So the people in these states will now have to put up with drones flying overhead as researchers figure out how to make them safe for commercial use. That implies they are not currently safe for use. How many accidents and incidents are there going to be over the next two years?   Continue reading “Is Your State One of the Six Chosen for Drone Testing in 2014?”

rangel 2Last Resistance – by Philip Hodges

Charlie Rangel is the 83-year-old Democrat Congressman from New York. He said that tea partiers must be sick in the head for wanting to “take down the country” by repealing Obamacare. I mean, who in their right mind would want to repeal a law that’s yielded one success story after another?

Here’s what he said:   Continue reading “Charlie Rangel: “Cult” Tea Party Push To Repeal Obamacare Is Sign of Mental Illness”

U.S. State Department Building, Washington, DCJohn Birch Society – by Art Thompson

In this week’s analysis behind the news video, JBS CEO Art Thompson discusses how the U.S. State Department is behind much of the turmoil and instability around the world; how this has been the case since at least the administration of Franklin Pierce; and how those who wish to impose socialism in the U.S. are the same people who are in charge of our foreign policy.   Continue reading “What’s Behind the Turmoil and Instability Around the World”

Government Corruption ExposedMilitia News by Jim R. Schwiesow

In the U.S. a political system – formerly ruled by the people directly through elected representatives – rapidly gives way to a tinpot dictatorship and a banana republic system of governance.

Anyone of even moderate intelligence must realize that the United States throughout the last half century, and more, has by virtue of its technology, integrity, fiscal potential, and tremendous military strength – all of which comprised an unstoppable power – kept worldwide stability on a fairly even keel. During that time some pretty wise and judicious political leadership kept the elements of this power and prepared intensity reasonably intact.   Continue reading “The Other Side Of Corrupt Leadership Lies Desolation.”
