erythritolNatural News – by Mike Adams

Truvia sweetener is made from about 99.5% erythritol (a sugar alcohol), and 0.5% rebiana, an extract from the stevia plant (but not at all the same thing as stevia). A shocking new study published in the journal PLOS ONE (1) has found that Truvia, an alternative sweetener manufactured by food giant Cargill, is a potent insecticide that kills fruit flies which consume it.

The study is titled, Erythritol, a Non-Nutritive Sugar Alcohol Sweetener and the Main Component of Truvia, Is a Palatable Ingested Insecticide.   Continue reading “Truvia sweetener a powerful pesticide; scientists shocked as fruit flies die in less than a week from eating GMO-derived erythritol”

U.S. Army Report Urges Preparations For Troops to Occupy NYC, Other "Megacities" Infowars – by Paul Joseph Watson

A U.S. Army report warns that American troops need to be prepared to enter New York City and other global “megacities” in order to prevent civil unrest, political uprisings and protect key infrastructure and natural resources in the national interest.

The report, entitled Megacities and the United States Army (PDF), was released by the Chief of Staff of the Army, Strategic Studies Group.

Cautioning that the power of national governments to deal with the problems caused by increasing urbanization and the growth of megacities is “diminishing,” the report notes, “It is inevitable that at some point the United States Army will be asked to operate in a megacity and currently the Army is ill-prepared to do so.”   Continue reading “U.S. Army Report Urges Preparations For Troops To Occupy NYC, Other “Megacities””

A new line of mobile chips unveiled by Intel today makes it possible to wake up a laptop or tablet simply by saying “Hello, computer.” Once it has been awoken, the computer can operate as a voice-controlled virtual assistant. You might call out “Hello, computer, what is the weather forecast today?” while getting out of bed.

Tablets and lightweight laptops based on the new Core M line of chips will go on sale at the end of this year. They can constantly listen for voice instructions thanks to a component known as a digital signal processor core that’s dedicated to processing audio with high efficiency and minimal power use.   Continue reading ““Hello, Computer” – Intel’s New Mobile Chips Are Always Listening”

smartmetersGlobal Research – by James F. Tracy

In a recent editorial, “Smart-meter Phobia Sad, But Don’t Cut Power,” the Palm Beach Post hyped safety claims of Florida Power and Light / Next Era Energy accompanying the utility’s statewide “smart meter” deployment while condemning the roughly 6,000 Florida households that have declined such technology.

The Post often weighs in on regional and state affairs with a discriminating editorial voice. In this instance, however, the paper’s editorial staff has chosen to ignore hard scientific data that clearly lay out the health-related dangers of exposure to the non-ionizing microwave radiation emitted by smart meters and similar wireless technologies.   Continue reading “Health Impacts of “Smart Meters”. Chris Christie trip to Mexico NJ.com – by Salvadore Rizzo

TRENTON — Wall Street analysts at Fitch Ratings today downgraded New Jersey’s bond rating for the second time this year, citing the state’s poor economic performance, Gov. Chris Christie’s rosy revenue forecasts — which failed to materialize — and his decision to plug the resulting budget gap by cutting $2.4 billion in funding for the state’s strained pension system.

Fitch said Christie’s decision to cut the pension payments this year marked a “repudiation” of a bipartisan plan he signed to fix the beleaguered retirement system for public workers, which is underfunded by nearly $40 billion, according to state estimates.   Continue reading “Fitch downgrades N.J. debt, saying Christie is repudiating his pension reform”

During an exchange with retired Army Col. Ralph Peters on his Fox News show Thursday, Sean Hannity said that given President Obama’s handling of foreign policy he couldn’t recommend young people join the military.

“If I’m looking at us giving up all of our gains in Iraq, I don’t know if I can in good conscience recommend that any American sign up for the military under this leadership,” Hannity said, referring to Obama’s failure to negotiate a status of forces agreement with Iraq to leave American soldiers in the Middle Eastern country past 2011.   Continue reading “Hannity: Can ‘Not In Good Conscience Recommend People Serve’ In Military Under Obama”

Here is another one of our “Why I Carry” stories. These stories, unlike our defensive gun uses, take a look at situations that may have turned out very differently if the victim(s) had been armed. These stories also serve as an important reminder as to why it’s important to carry everyday.

Sadly, I feel like we’re having to post too many of these types of stories recently.   Continue reading “WHY I CARRY: Couple Mercilessly Beaten by Group of 8+ People”
