WARSAW, Poland (AP) — President Barack Obama has taken the U.S. gay rights revolution global, using American embassies across the world to promote a cause that still divides his own country.

Sometimes U.S. advice and encouragement is condemned as unacceptable meddling. And sometimes it can seem to backfire, increasing the pressure on those it is meant to help.   Continue reading “US takes gay rights global, despite unsure welcome”

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama says he’ll keep acting on his own as long as congressional Republicans block his economic agenda.

In his weekly radio and Internet address, Obama says he has moved to attract jobs, raise workers’ wages and help students pay off loans because Republican obstructionism is keeping the system rigged against the middle class. He says if it makes Republicans in Congress mad that he’s trying to help people, they can join him so they can work together.   Continue reading “Obama: Congress obstructs, so I act alone”

Citing a belief that the U.S. government is filling the sky over their desert community with chemicals, while referring to work of conspiracy theorist Russell Blaylock, western Arizona residents attended a hearing on chemtrails on Wednesday to voice their concerns.

With one woman stating, “We’re being sprayed like bugs and it’s really not okay,” Sherrie Zendri, a policy specialist with the Arizona state environmental agency attempted to explain to the audience that her department has no jurisdiction over airplanes, which falls under the purview of the Federal Aviation Administration.   Continue reading “AZ residents at chemtrail hearing: ‘We’re being sprayed like we’re bugs and it’s really not okay’”

Russia’s state oil and gas company Gazprom is currently in talks to buy a 24.9 percent stake in Austrian group OMV, according to Reuters.

This would make Gazprom the second largest shareholder of OMV, as the Austrian state holding company OIAG owns a 32 percent in the group.

OMV is the majority shareholder of Romania’s oil&gas company OMV Petrom, which is the country’s largest company. OMV Petrom controls Romania’s oil production and half of the country’s natural gas production.   Continue reading “Russia could end up controling Romania’s oil reserves and half its gas reserves via stake in Austrian OMV”

LA MIRADA, Calif. – An apostate former Southern Baptist pastor, who endorsed homosexuality in a recent sermon, has been invited to attend a ‘gay pride’ reception at the White House with President Obama.

As previously reported, Danny Cortez leads New Heart Community Church in southern California. Earlier this year, Cortez surprised his Baptist congregation by declaring that he has accepted a pro-homosexual position.   Continue reading “Apostate Pastor’s Pro-Homosexual Sermon Earns Him Special Trip to White House”

Ok, let’s stipulate up front: the Bush administration owns the invasion of Iraq and everything that happened because of it up through 2009. (I do not believe new presidents inherit all responsibility on Inauguration Day; there is a grace period. President Obama’s expired about three years ago, but leave that argument for another day.) When Megyn Kelley is pantsing former Vice President Dick Cheney on this, you know that even the conservatives have accepted at least that much.

On one thing, however, it’s important to set the record straight, and that’s the issue of “lies” about WMD, especially chemical weapons. It has now become pretty much the status of urban legend that no one was crazy enough to link Saddam Hussein to WMD and Al Qaeda terrorists until the Bush administration did it as a rationale — one of several — for the 2003 invasion. It makes for a great story, except for one problem.   Continue reading “Who started that story about Iraq, WMDs, and Al Qaeda? That’s right, Bill Clinton.”

Gun control activists have recently renewed their efforts to gain ground on Capitol Hill.  As we reported this week, they continue to exploit high-profile national tragedies in an attempt to push their anti-gun agenda. They use grieving victims to falsely claim that enacting their “reforms” would have prevented these tragedies.  Anti-gun groups sponsored by former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg are trying to convince Congress to enact their proposals.  And as we saw this week, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) wants to help them do just that.   Continue reading “Harry Reid May Call For Vote On Gun Control Legislation: Says, “We Need Some More Votes””

We are sure this will end well. Just as China took the ‘if we build it (on free credit), they will come’ growth model to extremes in real estate; it appears their ambitions in nuclear energy production are just as grandiose. However, just as they lost control of the real estate market, Bloomberg reports China is moving quickly to become the first country to operate the world’s most powerful atomic reactor even as France’s nuclear regulator says communication and cooperation on safety measures with its Chinese counterparts are lacking. France has a lot riding on a smooth roll out of China’s European Pressurized Reactors (EPRs) as it is home to Areva, which developed the next-gen reactor, and utility EdF, which oversees the project. French regulators, speaking in parliament, warned, “the Chinese safety authorities lack means. They are overwhelmed.”    Continue reading “China Builds World’s Most Powerful Nuclear Reactor; Regulators “Overwhelmed””

The New American – by Alex Newman

A collection of over 100 of the world’s communist, Islamist, and socialist tyrants, along with some elected but mostly corrupt Third World regimes, gathered in Bolivia at the G77 plus China summit to demand what they called a “New World Order to Live Well.” United Nations boss Ban Ki-moon joined the anti-American, anti-freedom, anti-national sovereignty, anti-free market festivities, calling on the assembled rulers — the biggest bloc at the UN — to keep pushing “sustainable development” and global-warming alarmism with the goal of foisting global governance on humanity. Despite its significance, the historic 50th anniversary G77 summit went largely unnoticed in the establishment press.    Continue reading “China, G77 Tyrants, and UN Boss Demand “New World Order””
