With Governor J.B. Pritzker (D) at the helm and Democrat-led majorities in the House and Senate, Illinois lawmakers are pushing an “assault weapons” ban and firearm registration requirements.

The Telegraph reports that an “assault weapons” ban–Senate Bill 107–is being sponsored by State Sen. Julie Morrison (D-Deerfield). FLINT– Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton charged a Genesee County Sheriff’s Deputy today with sexually assaulting and kidnapping a woman who he had just arrested for shoplifting at the Clio Walmart.

George Charles Zofchak II, 40, is charged with one count of criminal sexual conduct first degree, one count of kidnapping, and one count of misconduct in office related to the December 24, 2018 incident. Atlanta, GA — The family of a 26-year-old Atlanta man who was killed after police shot him 76 times has filed a civil rights lawsuit against the officers involved.

In August of 2016, police broke down the door of Jamarion Robinson’s girlfriend’s home in Parkside Camp Creek Luxury Apartments and began spraying the interior of the apartment with bullets.
