Dog owners will often place signs around the property to warn visitors or the poor postman of their pooch’s presence. Most dogs are pretty friendly of course, but that doesn’t stop these creative owners from putting their own twist on the concept of the ‘Beware of the Dog’ sign, with hilarious results! Some of these would definitely be relevant to my home…

Funny signs…..but if it gets to court, a sign that says “beware of dog” is an admission that you know your dog is dangerous, and it doesn’t relieve you of any liability.
You may be better off without the sign, because it allows you to say “he’s never been hostile before. He must have been provoked”.
We have had 2 instances over 25+ years at our Homestead. Signs on fence every 50 feet Beware of Dog and No Trespassing. Both times someone climbed our fence (5 + acres) and was eventually met by our Dog(s). Result trip to urgent care or Hospital. 1 trespasser was treed until we got home and then had to worry about owner(s) with weapons. Both attempted too sue (that is what Homeowners Insurance is for). Wanted Sheriffs deputy to file report, No problem but when asked if they had entered t the property and admitted to it we asked the Deputy to arrest them for Trespassing which the deputy was more than happy to do. Needless to say No suit, No medical bills paid!
True story: we had a neighbor (2 miles away…that’s a neighbor out here), a elderly couple, with a couple of dogs as well as cats (to keep the mountain lions at bay), and he put up a “Beware of Dog” sign:
Beware of
Dog
that he rigged to say:
Beware of
Wife
Dog
Ok
“don’t trust the cat either”…
