The Texas Department of State Health Services has completed testing of the specimen submitted Thursday by Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas. The result is negative for Ebola.

The test was to evaluate the case of a sheriff’s deputy who sought medical care yesterday.

The deputy, who does not have a fever and is doing better, had been briefly inside the apartment of a man who later died of Ebola. The Ebola patient had already been hospitalized so the deputy did not have direct contact with him. All known cases of Ebola have occurred through direct contact with blood or other bodily fluids or exposure to contaminated objects, such as needles.   Continue reading “Sheriff’s deputy tests negative for Ebola”

One of the passengers of the MH17 plane shot down over Ukraine was wearing an oxygen mask, Dutch Foreign Minister Franz Timmermans has said. This new revelation contradicts assumptions that all 298 people on board the plane died instantly.

The cremation of a body weighing at least 500 pounds was the likely cause of a fire that broke out at a Virginia crematory on Wednesday. Authorities said the “rather large” cadaver caused excessive heat and oil during cremation.

The spread of Ebola presents a $33 billion threat to West African economies says the World Bank. Meanwhile, the rest of the world is pouring billions into halting the deadliest Ebola outbreak in history, from airport screenings to military aid in Africa.

In a worst case scenario, in the next four months there could be 1.4 million Ebola cases, according to a September 23 report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This would be a 175-fold increase from the current 8,033 cases. CHILPANCINGO, Mexico (AP) — Tens of thousands of teachers, activists and residents marched and blocked a major highway in the Guerrero state capital Wednesday to protest the disappearance of 43 teachers college students and demand that authorities find them.

Twins Anthony and Andrew Johnson lived with each other in a quiet neighborhood in Tennessee. One helped treat the other’s diabetes. They tended their lawn together, went to the grocery store together and they were found dead together.

Their decomposing bodies were discovered in the spring by police who found their remains in recliner chairs in their living room. Authorities determined at the time that they had been dead for about three years, but what killed them remained a mystery until Wednesday, when results of autopsies and toxicology exams showed Anthony Larry Johnson died of heart disease. A woman who claimed she had traveled to Africa arrived at Advocate Christ Medical Center’s emergency room claiming to have Ebola-like symptoms turned out to be an Ebola faker.

On Sunday afternoon when Oak Lawn first responders were dealing with the massive traffic accident at 95th Street and Cicero Avenue, a woman went to Advocate Christ’s emergency room around 5 p.m. seeking treatment for diarrhea, vomiting and fever.

“This patient self-reported having recently traveled to Africa. Sharyl Attkisson, the former CBS reporter who was stonewalled while investigating the Benghazi scandal, said the federal government’s lack of transparency regarding the Enterovirus outbreak is leading some Americans to believe that it could be related to the thousands of illegal immigrant juveniles from Central America who have been released in every state.

The polio-like Enterovirus has killed five children, most recently a four-year-old New Jersey boy who went to sleep last Friday asymptomatic and was found dead. I have no idea on this, I’m just playing out how this should go down because the public is starting to doubt this story and something tells me they get this guy within the next few days. But it has to be timed correctly for the story to drag out over 2 to 3 weeks.

I’m going to call it right here right now.  They are waiting for the opportune time to release his capture so the media frenzy will keep the masses pre-occupied with this story to snuff out something else, another scandal of course.

Immediately after hearing about the patient, Sgt. Michael Monnig, in Frisco yesterday afternoon and how they had people escorting him out wearing hazmat suits, I took it upon myself to go to the location 301 W Main St. (since it was only about 10-15 minutes away from me) to check it out for myself to see if it was real or not. After arriving there around 5:30pm, I was expecting to see police cars lined up for a half a mile, quarantines, checkpoints and even people in hazmat suits.

A 46-year-old Queens man died shortly after being placed in handcuffs by NYPD officers yesterday afternoon. Police say Daniel Levitt Jr. ran from officers after trying to ditch them on a scooter in Ridgewood shortly after 2 p.m. According to the NYPD, Levitt Jr. was wanted on an outstanding warrant related to a prior arrest for shoplifting an iPad Mini, and when officers in an unmarked car pulled up to him, he sped off on a scooter, heading the wrong way down Grandview Avenue.

Sources tell the Times that Levitt Jr. crashed several blocks later and then tried to flee on foot. He was apprehended and handcuffed, at which point police say he told officers he was asthmatic and having difficulty breathing. Officers say they gave him assistance with an inhaler in one of his pockets, and he said he was fine after that. A massive swarm of bees attacked four people in southern Arizona Wednesday, killing one and hospitalizing another.

Douglas Fire Capt. Ray Luzania told The Arizona Republic that two landscape workers were found in critical condition outside a residence on East 20th Street at about 10:30 a.m. One of the workers had collapsed and was having trouble breathing when emergency workers arrived. Both were rushed to a local hospital, where one of the victims was pronounced dead.
