WATERTOWN (AP) — The 26th and final playground built in memory of the Newtown school shooting victims has opened in Connecticut.
Volunteers and relatives of Dawn Hochsprung gathered in Watertown on Sunday to dedicate the playground in her honor. Hochsprung was the principal of Sandy Hook Elementary School, where she, 20 first graders and five other educators were shot to death in December 2012. I was just thinking about how there seems to be an increase of nationwide recalls of processed foods contaminated with Listeria, and how there is now also an increase in people hypervigilant about “Ebola-like symptoms,” and so maybe just something to keep in mind. It would not be difficult to mistake one for another, in a panic. Also it is interesting to me that this particular recall (chosen at random) is for processed foods used by institutions and airlines, among others. I think it would be a good idea for people to really think about where their food and drink comes from, before putting it in their mouth. Safest of all is to make it yourself. Liberals tend to go on and on about how America is an evil racist place and that the Constitution represents a culture of intolerance and violence. They try to position themselves as being the “compassionate ones” who are ready and willing to go to any length to fix societies wrongs, which of course are the fault of the Constitution and our selfish bill of rights. Often times however, their efforts are driven by nothing more than a fear of what they do not understand, a fear of them self and a misguided belief that the “ends justifies the means.” Most liberals after all, base their tactics for social change off the play book of the left- Saul Alinsky’s Rules For Radicals. During the course of practically any viral infection, vitamin C needs go WAY UP, and in the case of ebola, they go SKY HIGH. So high that all conventional wisdom with regard to vitamin C is irrelevant. The dosings I have below are absolute minimums. Remember, that for as long as ebola is not in your area, do not waste your vitamin C supply by taking more than a tablet per day. If it comes to your area, as a precaution, take 4 or 5 grams per day until you get symptoms, THEN proceed with taking more. This is to preserve your supply until it is really needed.

Wednesday on Newsmax TV’s “America’s Forum,” Mayor Phillip Burch Mayor of Artesia, NM, a isolated town that houses a federal immigration detention center, said there has been a sudden large increase in the number of illegal immigrants being released from the center into the United States.

Does the federal government have any systems at all to back its email archives? Maybe not, because the Environmental Protection Agency is now using the same excuse as the IRS is using in response to a Congressional subpoena: the computer ate our homework.
In a hearing Wednesday before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy said the agency was still trying to recover the emails from a now-retired employee who was involved in a controversial EPA evaluation of a proposed mine project in Alaska‘s Bristol Bay. At least five children infected with the respiratory illness known enterovirus D68 (EV-D68) have died in the U.S. in the past month.
The lastest confirmed victim was a four-year-old New Jersey boy, Eli Waller. He died at home on September 25. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) confirmed the cause of death Friday night. But health officials say they have no idea how he contracted the virus. A health official says Eli was “asymptomatic and fine” when he went to bed but died overnight. WASHINGTON — The Department of Homeland Security is trying to shoot down reports that terrorist fighters are operating in Mexico and that some already have been caught attempting to cross the United States’ southern border.

A U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) officer has been sentenced to 30 months in federal prison for taking bribes–including thousands of dollars and hundreds of egg rolls–in exchange for providing legal status or U.S. citizenship to foreign nationals.

A reporter with the Daily Kos says he was told by a source within the Missouri military that troops are being prepared to deal with riots in Ferguson and St. Louis in the aftermath of an expected acquittal in the case of Officer Darren Wilson.

In terms of purchasing power, China now has the largest economy on the entire planet, but that is not the only area where China has surpassed the United States. China also accounts for more total global trade than the U.S. does, China consumes more energy than the U.S. does, and China now manufactures more goods than the U.S. does. In other words, the era of American economic dominance is rapidly ending. Global economic power is making a dramatic shift to the east, and that is going to have huge implications for our future. We already owe the Chinese well over a trillion dollars, and as our economic infrastructure crumbles we are feverishly borrowing even more money in a desperate attempt to prop up our falling standard of living. ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — A state appeals court will decide in coming weeks whether chimpanzees are entitled to “legal personhood” in a case that could lead to expanded rights for animals such as gorillas, elephants and dolphins, according to the lawyer advocating for a 26-year-old chimp named Tommy.
Attorney Steven Wise argued before a five-member mid-level appeals court Wednesday on behalf of Tommy, who lives alone in a cage in upstate Fulton County. A trial-level judge has refused a request by Wise and his Nonhuman Rights Project to have Tommy released to join other chimps at a Florida sanctuary that mimics their natural habitat. PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Brittany Maynard will not live to see if her advocacy makes a difference.
The 29-year-old woman expects to die next month. If the brain cancer from which she suffers does not kill her in October, she plans to take advantage of Oregon’s Death with Dignity Act and end her own life on the first of November — a few days after her husband’s 43rd birthday. ST. JOHNSBURY, Vt. (AP) — A man told police he poured vodka into the IV feeding tube of his girlfriend’s disabled 13-year-old son to settle him down, a dose of alcohol that contributed to his death, according to court documents released Wednesday.
Walter Richters and Melissa Robitille, both 38, were charged with second-degree murder in the Aug. 22 death of Isaac Robitille. They entered not-guilty pleas at their arraignment Wednesday afternoon in Caledonia County and were ordered held without bail. Neither spoke. AT&T Inc. (T) agreed to pay $105 million to settle claims that the company billed wireless customers for unauthorized charges for services including horoscopes, ring tones and love tips.

On Wednesday, Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta arrived at the International Criminal Court in The Hague, Netherlands – the same court that charged him with crimes against humanity in 2012. While he has said that he is attending the court as a private citizen and not representing Kenya, it’s still a remarkable moment. Kenyatta is the first head of state to ever appear at the ICC since it was established in 2002 to prosecute war crimes. Accused cop killer Eric Frein described in disturbing detail what it was like when he allegedly shot two state troopers, killing one and injuring another, in a handwritten note found by a police dragnet in the Pennsylvania woods.
Frein, who has been on the run for nearly a month, appears to describe the murder of Cpl. Bryon Dickson in one handwritten letter.
“Got a shot around 11 p.m. and took it. He dropped. I was surprised at how quick,” Lt. Col. George Bivens said at a press conference today, reading from the note police believe Frein wrote. “I took a follow-up shot on his head-neck area.
