Police in California have arrested a former Transportation Security Administration employee and accused him of making terrorist threats at an airport just before the anniversary of the September 11 attacks.

A budget provision protecting genetically-modified seeds from litigation in the face of health risks was extended for three months in an approved US House of Representatives’ spending bill on Tuesday evening.
Called “The Monsanto Protection Act” by opponents, the budget rider shields biotech behemoths like Monsanto, Cargill and others from the threat of lawsuits and bars federal courts from intervening to force an end to the sale of a GMO (genetically-modified organism) even if the genetically-engineered product causes damaging health effects. WEB Notes: July 14th, 2013 we posted, “Israel Tests Nuclear Capable Missile While Russia Starts Largest Military Exercise in Post-Soviet Era, Update on Egypt Situation.” This nuclear capable missile is also capable of carrying chemical weapons. Israel signed the chemical weapons treaty years ago, but never ratified it.They do not intend to until the world makes peace with them. We see the world coming down on Assad for his supposed use of chemical weapons which we know is a lie. Marissa Mayer, the CEO of Yahoo, and Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook struck back on Wednesday at critics who have charged tech companies with doing too little to fight off NSA surveillance. Mayer said executives faced jail if they revealed government secrets.
Yahoo and Facebook, along with other tech firms, are pushing for the right to be allowed to publish the number of requests they receive from the spy agency. How does the Fourth Amendment apply to deleting a picture from a digital camera? InBurch v. City of Florence, Ala., 913 F.Supp.2d 1221 (N.D.Ala. 2012), the police had received various complaints that the plaintiff John Wesley Burch was causing concern because he was taking pictures of lots of people and cars in town. Burch has performed a variety of odd jobs, including sometimes working since 2004 as a freelance private investigator, or as an assistant to a private investigator. Authorities in Poland last week announced the confiscation of bonds held in private pension funds without compensation, implausibly claiming that the move did not amount to a nationalization of the assets. While Polish officials engaged in rhetorical games and semantics to conceal the severity of the “transfer” of privately owned assets to a “state pension vehicle” known as ZUS, the controversial move is still fueling confusion and fierce criticism from analysts and economists. Homelessness is a complex, daunting problem, and cities all over America seem determined to resolve it with a simple strategy: abusing homeless people until they go away.
Local governments have come up with a myriad of Constitution-trampling ways to clear out their homeless populations, from sit/lie bans that can land people in jail for sitting down in public, to anti-panhandling measures that empower police to bust people for speaking or holding a sign while being poor. State trooper shot in Mason County, Michigan, was killed in a routine traffic stop Monday night. Paul Butterfield, 43, was shot in the head and died during emergency surgery in hospital. According to ABC News on Sept. 10, 2013, Butterfield provided information moments before the shooting that lead to the apprehension of the suspect. ATLANTIC, Va. — NASA scientists are using former military surveillance drones to help them understand more about how tropical storms intensify, which they say could ultimately save lives by improving forecast models that predict a hurricane’s strength.
The unmanned Global Hawk aircraft were designed to perform high-altitude, long-endurance reconnaissance and intelligence missions for the Air Force. Two of the original Global Hawks built in the developmental process for the military have found new life as part of NASA’s research mission, studying storms that form over the Atlantic Ocean. NASA planned to launch one of the drones from its Wallops Flight Facility on Wednesday to study Tropical Storm Gabrielle, which re-formed in the Atlantic on Tuesday.
