Abstract:

A method is described for reducing atmospheric or global warming resulting from the presence of heat-trapping gases in the atmosphere, i.e., from the greenhouse effect. Such gases are relatively transparent to sunshine, but absorb strongly the long-wavelength infrared radiation released by the earth. The method incudes the step of seeding the layer of heat-trapping gases in the atmosphere with particles of materials characterized by wavelength-dependent emissivity. Such materials include Welsbach materials and the oxides of metals which have high emissivity (and thus low reflectivities) in the visible and 8-12 micron infrared wavelength regions.   Continue reading “Stratospheric Welsbach seeding for reduction of global warming”

The number of military involved in the sudden checking readiness of the Russian Armed Forces, has doubled – to 160,000, according to RIA Novosti , citing the statement of Russian Defense Minister, Army General Sergei Shoigu at a teleconference in the center of the military.

Another commuter train was derailed just hours ago in Paris, with casualites being reported.

Six days ago it was Quebec where criminal activity for the derailment is being investigated.  On May 29th a train derailed near Baltimore along with a massive explosion. I mean, come on.  You knew it had to happen, didn’t you?  In a 2010 Department of Homeland Security report, wrested from the bowels of the secrecy/surveillance state (thanks to a Freedom of Information Act request by the Electronic Frontier Foundation), the Customs and Border Protection agency suggests arming their small fleet of surveillance drones.  The purpose: to “immobilize TOIs,” or targets of interest, along the U.S.-Mexican border.  Those arms would, of course, be “non-lethal” in nature.  It’s all so civilized.  Kinda like the Star Trek folks putting their phasers on “stun,” not kill.  And count on it, sooner or later it will happen.  And then, of course, the lethal weapons will follow.  Otherwise, how in the world could we track and eliminate terrorists in “the homeland” efficiently?   Continue reading “Welcome Home From the Wars, Drones!”

A local Fox affiliate, the San Francisco powerhouse station KTVU, is dealing with the fallout of a major error on Friday. During their noon broadcast, a report on the deadly Asiana Airlines crash took a turn for the unintentionally offensive when they broadcast the names of pilots in charge of that flight. WEB Notes: We are witnessing a very interesting turn of events here. Notice there is no proof, but the U.S. blamed Israel anyway. There is no doubt in my mind it was Israel. However, an “ally” to lay blame with no proof? This Admin also told the world about a base of Israel’s that until then, was a “secret.”

Another note, if this story is accurate, Israel continues to violate International law by attacking Syria who has not touched Israel. After two years Syria still cannot expel the “rebels” from their own country. Syria is no threat to Israel, that should be common sense by now. PLYMOUTH — Boston Police Officer Kirk D. Merricks today pleaded not guilty to 11 counts of illegal possession of explosives, including four grenades, that Plymouth police said they found in the single family home where he formerly lived with his now estranged wife.
