Police across the country are trying to make it a hate crime, to criticize first responders or to resist arrest even if they’re innocent! (first responders are police, firefighters and EMS personnel.)

According to Louisiana’s new law, citizens who criticize first responders can be sentenced to prison for up to six months and given a $500 penalty. NEW KENSINGTON, Pa. — Two Westmoreland County police officers are on leave from their departments after being seen hitting a handcuffed suspect in a Facebook video.

The Westmoreland County district attorney’s office is now investigating.

One officer is from the New Kensington Police Department and the other is from the Arnold Police Department. Neither has been publicly identified. Newly-released video footage of separate police shootings in California show officers escalating encounters with mentally ill men before firing on them. One man was unarmed while the other, who was killed, may have had a small knife.

On Wednesday, the San Francisco Public Defender’s Office released officer body camera footage of a shooting incident on January 6 involving the San Francisco Police Department. The shooting put Sean Moore, a black man diagnosed with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, in the hospital.
