A large U.S. military force has reportedly arrived at a port in the south of Jordan, ready to be deployed at the country’s border with neighboring Syria.
The Israeli military intelligence website DEBKAfile has reported that 1,000 U.S troops from the 24th Marine Expeditionary Force arrived at the southern Jordanian port of Aqaba on Tuesday and made their way to the north of the country under heavy Jordanian military escort. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) must have studied his Police State Handbook before giving an interview regarding the Verizon scandal. The U.S. government was granted unlimited authority to obtain the records of all telephone calls in the Verizon system if at least one of the parties was in the US.
All of the classic manipulative language was present to justify the invasion of privacy when Graham discussed the matter with Fox News and expressed his personal delight at being surveilled. Oregon senators took a major step in affirming school students’ rights to privacy Wednesday.
An Oregon bill aimed at making it a requirement for schools to inform parents, students and the state Board of Education before implementing and distributing privacy invading radio frequency identification technology passed the Senate with a 28-2 vote yesterday, reports the Associated Press. Speaking at the White House National Conference on Mental Health on Monday, Vice President Joe Biden told a sometimes serious and sometimes jocular story about the two brain surgeries he needed in 1988 to deal with cranial aneurysms.
Biden told the White House audience “they take a saw and they cut your head off” and “they literally had to take the top of my head off.” He also recounted that as he was being wheeled into surgery he asked the neurosurgeon, “What are my chances of getting off this table completely normal?” The surgeon told Biden he had a better chance of living—and that that chance was in the 35 to 50 percent range. It’s almost surreal, but it’s true. Monsanto has officially give up its fight to spread genetically modified seeds and plants throughout Europe.
In a time when the power and political influence of Monsanto Co. seems nearly insurmountable, this is a huge victory for opponents of genetic engineering. For those in the U.S. and other countries where Monsanto’s stranglehold is palpable, it serves as a rally cry to keep up the good fight. The contractor in charge of the four-story building that collapsed—killing six people and injuring 14—onto a thrift store in Philadelphia on Wednesday had a permit to tear down the building. He also has a criminal record.
According to NBC 10 in Philadelphia, Griffin Campbell, the 49-year-old owner of Griffin Campbell Construction, pleaded guilty to theft and insurance fraud in 2009. Senator Dianne Feinstein has long been accused of corruption and unethical behavior in Congress. From going after the Second Amendment to making tens of millions of dollars through her husband’s companies, Feinstein seems to take unbridled glee in being one of the most corrupt members of Congress today.
Recently, a new wave of accusations has been levied at Feinstein, this time focusing on a deal that started in 2011 when the Post Office awarded the CBRE Group Inc. a contract to be the sole marketer of USPS properties. Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner (R-Wisc.) introduced the Patriot Act in October of 2001. Today, he sent a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder saying that initial reports about the National Security Administration’s request for Verizon phone records are “disturbing,” and “not consistent with the requirements of the Patriot Act.”

Enter Unit 8200: Israel arms for cyberwar
In March 2010 the head of Israel’s Military Intelligence, Maj. Gen. Amos Yadlin, disclosed that the Jewish state had become a world leader in cyberwarfare.
The Jerusalem Post said May 5 that Unit 8200 was suspected of developing the Stuxnet worm.

HONG KONG (AFP) – A 66-year-old who lived his whole life as a man was given a surprising diagnosis after visiting the doctor in Hong Kong with a swollen abdomen — he was a woman.
