Rep. Pete Sessions (R-Texas) at the hearing where he discussed his bill to create a bipartisan committee to tackle fiscal issues.NPR – by Frank James

The latest House GOP gambit in the fiscal fight is … wait for it … a supercommittee.

But Republicans aren’t calling it a supercommittee since that’s the term for the failed panel that brought us the the sequester.

Instead, it’s called the Bicameral Working Group on Deficit Reduction and Economic Growth. The special panel would have 20 members, evenly divided between the House and Senate, who would recommend a budget for fiscal 2014 (which began Oct. 1), and craft details of a new debt ceiling and spending cuts.   Continue reading “House GOP’s Latest Idea: A Fiscal Supercommittee, Sort Of”

Republican Rep. Brenda Barton of Payson compared President Barack Obama to Adolph Hitler on her Facebook page today in a post urging county sheriffs to revoke authority from the National Parks Service “thugs” who are enforcing the federal shutdown on national parks lands.

“Someone is paying the National Park Service thugs overtime for their efforts to carry out the order of De Fuhrer… where are our Constitutional Sheriffs who can revoke the Park Service Rangers authority to arrest??? Do we have any Sheriffs with a pair?” she wrote.   Continue reading “State representative stands by her comparison of Obama to Hitler”

The Quote of the Decade:

“The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure.  It is a sign that the US Government cannot pay its own bills.  It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies.  Increasing America’s debt weakens us domestically and internationally.    Continue reading “Words can come back to haunt us”

A Georgia man was shot and killed last Friday, when police, not paramedics, showed up to a medical emergency call made by the man’s fiance.

Alcia Herron called 911 for an ambulance shortly after her fiance, 43-year-old Jack Lamar Roberson, took diabetes medication that worried her.

According to Herron, police soon arrived on scene and opened fire on Roberson in front of the entire family, including Roberson’s 8-year-old daughter.   Continue reading “Woman Calls 911 For Diabetic Fiance, Police Shoot And Kill Man Upon Arrival”

Truck drivers will descend on the Beltway on Friday for a political rally protesting causes ranging from the government shutdown to low wages for drivers — but claims the group planned to shut down the region appear to have been overstated.

Originally billed “Truckers to Shut Down America,” the protest is now called “Truckers Ride For The Constitution” after the organizing group’s original social media sites were shut down.   Continue reading “‘Truckers Ride for the Constitution’ to take to Beltway in protest”

Back in 2008, when then-candidate Obama promised Joe the Plumber and the rest of America that he intended to spread the wealth around, most democrat and liberal voters embraced the notion of wealth redistribution under the guise of equality. A universal health care plan, that would be free for all Americans, was the promise from the candidate of hope and change.

Tens of millions of Americans jumped on the bandwagon waving their flags, fainting at his appearances, and fawning over his every word.   Continue reading “Democrat Voters Confused: “I Didn’t Realize I Would Be The One Who Was Going to Pay For It Personally””

Maryland’s Health Connection, the state’s Obamacare marketplace, has been plagued by delays in the first days of open enrollment.  If users are able to endure long page-loading delays, they are presented with the website’s privacy policy, a ubiquitous fine-print feature on websites that often go unread. Nevertheless, users are asked to check off a box that they agree to the terms.

The policy contains many standard statements about information automatically collected regarding Internet browsers and IP addresses, temporary “cookies” used by the site, and website accessibility.  However, at least two conditions may give some users pause before proceeding.   Continue reading “Obamacare Marketplace: Personal Data Can Be Used For ‘Law Enforcement and Audit Activities’”

Monsanto and Sygenta have won the prestigious World Food Prize.

Apparently, tampering with the genetic make-up of food and turning something that used to be healthy into poisontainting the soil, air and water with chemical drift from pesticides like Roundup, killing the bee population of entire continents, and driving small farmers out of business through gratuitous lawsuits and unethical practices, pays big public relations dividends.  The World Food Prize is said to be the equivalent of the Nobel Prize for agriculture.   Continue reading “Winner! Ask yourself this question: if you’re forced to buy a product, will the seller also want to make sure you use it?

The first part of the question is called a clue. Who forces you to buy a product? What kind of person or group?

Forced purchase and forced use go hand in hand.   Continue reading “Obamacare: the ticking time bomb in “better health””

Researchers at a US lab have passed a crucial milestone on the way to their ultimate goal of achieving self-sustaining nuclear fusion.

Harnessing fusion – the process that powers the Sun – could provide an unlimited and cheap source of energy.

But to be viable, fusion power plants would have to produce more energy than they consume, which has proven elusive.   Continue reading “Nuclear fusion milestone passed at US lab”

VA field guideFree Patriot – by Brandon Walker

October 8, 2013: If you are a veteran of the Armed Services, things are beginning to look rather ominous. First you are labeled a “terrorist” at the beginning of the year by Janet Napalitano.  Then you have Senator Feinstein (D CA) telling everyone that All Veterans are all mentally disabled and therefore should never own a fire arm.  You have a person many consider as a war traitor as the Secretary of State signing treaties you believe against the country you love. Then you get kicked out of all open air memorials and national parks because they are closed, even though the memorials are for your fallen brothers and sisters. Then you get the news that they are opening part of those areas for an illegal immigration rally to support immigration reform. And when you just think that you have seen the last of the attacks, the worst hits home. Obama declares war on the veterans in the VA healthcare system shutting down the VA regional Offices.   Continue reading “Obama Declares Open War On Veterans, Closes VA Regional Offices”

Using databases and exhaustive research, Sun Sentinel reporters spent six months looking into Sunrise’s undercover narcotics unit.

Reporters reviewed 644,000 jail bookings processed by the Broward Sheriff’s Office since 2009. They found that every year, Sunrise arrested more people on cocaine trafficking charges than any other city in the county — including Fort Lauderdale, with three times more sworn officers than Sunrise.   Continue reading “Cops.
