Sanctuary Cities: What are they?

Despite a 1996 federal law [the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act ( IIRIRA )] that requires local governments to cooperate with Department of Homeland Security’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), many large urban cities (and some small) have adopted so-called “sanctuary” policies.  Generally, sanctuary policies instruct city employees not to notify the federal government of the presence of illegal aliens living in their communities. The policies also end the distinction between legal resident aliens and illegal aliens–so illegal aliens often benefit from taxpayer funded government services and programs too.   Continue reading “Sanctuary Cities, USA”

Breitbart – by Kristin Tate

HOUSTON, Texas–A 2014 government report by the Congressional Research Service obtained by Breitbart Texas shows that President Obama’s Department of Justice has set forth “policy guidelines” for judges hearing immigration cases of unaccompanied alien children (UAC). Amid the border crisis, which involves thousands of minors entering the U.S. illegally each week, immigration judges have been instructed to “prepare” UAC to testify and use “sensitive” questioning.    Continue reading “Feds Instruct Judges to ‘Prepare’ Unaccompanied Minors for Hearings”

Do we live in a police state?

What other state forces non-criminals to submit to fingerprinting in order to obtain permission to drive?

Or merely to exist?

The state of Texas does. So do the states of California, Georgia and Colorado. Soon, the entire UnitedState (singular usage, in the interests of editorial accuracy)  is likely to require it. Indeed, already does – under the auspices of the REAL ID Act, passed back in ’05 by the Heimatsicherheitsdeinst. Continue reading “Police state America wants more than your papers”

A federal court has ruled that the Obama Department of Justice must turn over to the non-profit watchdog group Judicial Watch an index of materials related to the “Fast and Furious” gun-running scandal that were withheld by the White House under executive privilege claims.

Judicial Watch sued because the government didn’t respond to its Freedom of Information Act requests in June and September of 2012.   Continue reading “Court releases ‘Fast and Furious’ info withheld by Obama”

A Gaza ceasefire crumbled only hours after it began on Friday, with at least 40 Palestinians killed by Israeli shelling and Israel accusing militants of violating the US- and UN-brokered truce by firing rockets and mortars.

The 72-hour break announced by US Secretary of State John Kerry and UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon was the most ambitious attempt so far to end more than three weeks of fighting, and followed mounting international alarm over a rising Palestinian civilian death toll.   Continue reading “Gaza ceasefire over within hours”

President Obama still plans to convene a three-day summit in Washington for leaders of African countries even though the continent is experiencing an outbreak of the deadly Ebola virus, a White House spokesman said Wednesday.

“We have no plans to change any elements of the U.S.-Africa summit as we believe all air travel continues to be safe here,” principal deputy press secretary Eric Schultz told reporters aboard Air Force One on Wednesday.   Continue reading “Ebola Outbreak Won’t Stop Obama’s Plans For Summit Of African Leaders”

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The cameras are rolling and police detectives should exercise caution while not allowing themselves to become a “punching bag” in an arrest situation following the public outcry over the death of Eric Garner on Staten Island, warns Michael J. Palladino, president of the NYPD Detectives’ Endowment Association.

Palladino linked the shooting of a detective executing a search warrant with two U.S. marshals in Manhattan on Monday and also two incidents where police officers were punched as part of the fallout from the death on July 17 of Garner, 43, of Port Richmond, across from Tompkinsville Park following an altercation with police.   Continue reading “‘Never let your guard down’ in light of Eric Garner death, NYPD detectives union leader warns”
