Presidential candidate Donald Trump has called on his supporters to boycott Apple until it agrees to help the FBI unlock an iPhone used by one of the San Bernardino shooters.
“What I think you ought to do is boycott Apple until such time they give that security number,” Trump said at a rally in South Carolina.
“I just thought of it,” the GOP front-runner added. “Boycott Apple.”
The Justice Department is pushing forward with its legal fight against Apple, urging a federal judge to compel the tech giant to help the FBI crack open a cellphone left behind by one of the San Bernardino, California, shooters.
“Rather than assist the effort to fully investigate a deadly terrorist attack by obeying this court’s [previous order], Apple has responded by publicly repudiating that order,” prosecutors wrote in a new filing today. Meriden, CT — Responding to reports of an intoxicated man asleep in the middle of the road, a Meriden, Connecticut police officer said, flatly, “I think we oughta just f***ing pop him.”

America’s “affluenza” teen had his case transferred to the adult court system on Friday, where 18-year-old Texan Ethan Couch faces decades behind bars if he violates the probation deal that kept him out of prison after he killed four people while driving drunk.
Judge Tim Menikos in Fort Worth transferred probation supervision for Couch, who was convicted in juvenile court in 2013 on charges related to the crash earlier that year, when he was 16. The U.S. military’s Joint Base Langley-Eustis in Virginia was on lockdown on Friday after shots were fired, the base said on Twitter.
There was no active shooter or reported casualties, it said. The joint Army and Air Force base is near Hampton Roads and Norfolk, about 120 miles south of Washington.

The Circuit Court of Cook County in Chicago has agreed to hear a lawsuit on Sen. Ted Cruz’s eligibility for president — virtually ensuring that the issue dominates the news in the runup to the South Carolina primary.

Facing possible prosecution over a campaign mailing sent to former jurors, Conroe judge Michael Seiler resigned his post Tuesday as part of an agreement with the district attorney’s office that will prevent him from serving as a judge in the future.

I must say that as a lifelong practicing Catholic, I am really disappointed and disgusted at what Pope Francis said about Donald Trump, claiming that he’s not Christian for wanting to build a wall between the U.S. and Mexico. That is outrageous and dishonest, especially given the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops own official document on this matter, as well as the official teaching on immigration outlined in the Catechism of the Catholic Church! In addition, I’ve been to the Vatican and to churches throughout the world. Most every Catholic church property has a fence or wall around it, and every single one has locks on their doors. Many Catholic churches even have ‘tow-away’ signs in their parking lot for unauthorized vehicles! I’ve even seen 24-hour Catholic chapels that have signs posted to not give money to beggars and to call the police on them. To claim that securing your God-given right to your country’s sovereignty makes one somehow un- Christian is an outrageous fraud and scandal. Apple Inc (AAPL.O) will likely seek to invoke the United States’ protections of free speech as one of its key legal arguments in trying to block an order to help unlock the encrypted iPhone of one of the San Bernardino shooters, lawyers with expertise in the subject said this week.

Researchers from Ohio State University discovered that the commonly used pain reliever, acetaminophen, has a previously unknown side effect: it kills positive emotions. In the study, participants who took acetaminophen reported feeling fewer strong emotions when they were shown very pleasant or very disturbing photos, compared to those who took placebos. You might be thinking correlation doesn’t mean causation, but when you use the Bradford Hill criteria, and examine all of the other studies done regarding the psychological effects of over the counter pain killers, the picture becomes clearer. In 2009, current Special Agent in Charge of the Malhuer Occupation, Greg Bretzing was the Special Agent in Charge of a massive investigation into the theft of Indian artifacts in the Four Corners region of Arizona, Colorado, Utah and New Mexico. The investigation centered around the alleged taking of and sale of Indian artifacts from Federal Lands. However those lands, while under BLM management, are public lands and the legality of removing artifacts is still in dispute. The two year long investigation headed by Bretzing culminated in June 2009 when FBI and BLM agents conducted coordinated raids on 24 defendants serving 12 separate indictments.
