Former CIA analyst and anti-war activist Ray McGovern was forcibly removed from the US Senate hearing where Gina Haspel, President Donald Trump’s nominee for CIA director, was answering questions about her record on torture.

Prince George’s County, MD — Rep. Mike Bishop, a Republican representing Michigan’s 8th District, is exposing a program that he calls “secretive and problematic” within the U.S. Department of Agriculture in which hundreds of kittens are being incinerated in Maryland.
According to the USDA, the breeding and subsequent mass killing of kittens is essential to understanding and combating a dangerous parasite. However, citing inhumane procedures and wasted taxpayer funds, Bishop has called for an official investigation into the program. After arriving in Pyongyang early Tuesday, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has successfully negotiated the release of three US citizens being held in the communist state, and is now on his way back to Washington with the hostages in tow.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – President Donald Trump said on Wednesday his administration will begin work on a section of his promised U.S.-Mexico border wall in San Diego, at the request of the major California county.
“San Diego has asked us to go forward with their section of the wall in California and rather than not doing that and letting them lobby for us with Governor Brown we decided to do it,” Trump told reporters as his cabinet met at the White house. When the search continued for the gunman who shot an ATF agent in the face, local and federal police canvassed the Back of the Yards neighborhood in Chicago, some neighbors said they were angry with what they called an aggressive and excessive response. But what should open some eyes is the quote by a mother from the neighborhood.
“Just because you’re wearing a badge, it matters more?” asked Mayra Salinas, a mother who lives in the area. “How does that make us feel? Although you’d think the headline is a joke, it’s not. Illinois police have threatened to kill their drug-sniffing dogs if the state has the nerve to grant the peasants living under their tyrannical control the freedom to grow and smoke a plant.
Today, anti-marijuana advocates offer a new, insane reason why we shouldn’t legalize weed. K-9 units are trained to detect a variety of illicit substances, including weed. However, once marijuana becomes legal, the police can no longer use these dogs because they won’t need to sniff out “illegal pot” use. President Donald Trump returned to an old talking point on Wednesday by musing about taking away press credentials from news organizations that report negative stories about him, which he called “Fake News.”
Trump tweeted: “The Fake News is working overtime. Just reported that, despite the tremendous success we are having with the economy & all things else, 91% of the Network News about me is negative (Fake). WHAT’S SAID to be the most expensive motion picture ever made was released a few weeks ago and has been earning record money at the box office. The film, of course, is Titanic, and it’s about the sinking of the ocean liner RMS Titanic on April 15, 1912, with the loss of 1,513 lives, after the ship struck an iceberg in the North Atlantic. There are many superlatives in the film. The Titanic was the largest ship ever built at the time. It also was the most luxurious ship, intended to provide high-speed trans-Atlantic transportation in comfort for the rich and pampered. Renowned psychology Prof. Jeremy D. Safran was beaten to death in his Brooklyn home on Monday by a hammer-wielding suspect.

The man arrested for allegedly shooting a federal agent in the face last week appeared in a Chicago court today to face formal charges.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — New video released by police Tuesday shows officers joking with three black people considering suing over what they say was an excessive response to a racially motivated 911 call in Southern California.
The body camera footage released by the Rialto Police Department shows a laid-back and at times light-hearted interaction between officers and the group they had pulled over, which included the granddaughter of reggae legend Bob Marley. PAHOA, Hawaii (AP) — Police went door-to-door in Hawaii to roust residents near two new volcanic vents emitting dangerous gases in areas where lava has poured into streets and backyards for the past week.
