President Donald Trump made a startling statement Friday afternoon while boasting about how he believes he handled his widely-condemned withdrawal of U.S. troops from Northern Syria – a move that had opened the gate to ethnic cleansing of America’s now-former allies, the Kurds.

Rightwing activists are attempting to spread new laws across Republican-controlled states that would ban criticism on public university campuses of Israel and its occupation of Palestinian territory.

Pro-Israel and conservative lobbyists are encouraging state lawmakers to outlaw antisemitism in public education, from kindergarten through to graduate universities. On Monday evening, conservative students at the University of North Carolina Charlotte put a display up on their campus that warned of the deadly dangers of socialism. The “Socialism Graveyard” included headstones that told of the system’s death toll in various countries.

Oil Price

The Venezuelan government is readying to hand over control over state oil company PDVSA to Russia’s Rosneft, a local newspaper has reported, citing sources from the industry.

Russian TASS reports, quoting El Nacional, that the radical move is being discussed as a way of erasing Caracas’ debt to Moscow. The debt is sizeable: at the end of June this year, money owed to Rosneft alone stood at $1.1 billion. HONG KONG (Reuters) – Hong Kong pro-democracy campaigners on Friday vowed to stage a major march at the weekend despite police ruling the rally illegal, setting the scene for possibly more unrest in the Chinese-ruled city, battered by months of violent protests.

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK — An Oklahoma man who was attempting to attend the Oklahoma County Budget meeting Thursday left in handcuffs instead.

Ray Adam Modisette went to the courthouse with a group of people. They told FOX 25 he was hoping to talk to officials at the meeting about the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s response and actions surrounding the Sheriff’s Office relationship with Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
