Two French vaccine centres were vandalised so badly over the weekend (July 17-18) that they have been put out of use.
The first in Lans-en-Vercors, Isère, was set on fire on Friday night (July 16). A police investigation has been opened into the incident.

SAN DIEGO (CNS) – A young man who carried out a hate-motivated shooting at the Chabad of Poway that killed one woman and injured three other people pleaded guilty Tuesday to murder and other state charges.
In exchange for his pleas, 22-year-old John Earnest is expected to be sentenced on Sept. 30 to life in prison without the possibility of parole, plus 137 years to life, for the April 27, 2019, shooting. He also pleaded guilty to an arson charge for setting fire to the Dar-ul-Arqam Mosque in Escondido on March 24, 2019. Lawmakers in the US Congress have introduced an unprecedented bill that will increase the legislature’s control in security matters including war authorization, arms exports and national emergencies.

The House Appropriations Committee FY22 funding bill includes $40 million for a program to pressure states into establishing “Red Flag” gun confiscation laws in an effort to support “safer communities” and expand “gun violence prevention efforts.”
According to a draft of the FY22 Commerce, Justice, Science and Related Agencies funding bill released July 11, nearly $150 million in “Gun Violence Reduction Grants” is “aimed at reducing gun violence.” In addition to the $40 million focused on “Red Flag” laws, the committee included $100 million for grants to assist states in improving their National Instant Criminal Background Check systems for gun purchases and $10 million to “develop and expand gun buyback and relinquishment programs.” Continue reading “House bill allocates $40 million for federal ‘Red Flag’ gun confiscation program”
An 80-year-old man was reportedly found dead inside a Staten Island apartment building with the phrase “I touch little girls” written on his body, law enforcement said Tuesday.

A man armed with a handgun defended himself during an attempted robbery in Los Angeles, and left two suspects with bullet wounds to the legs, police say.
“Words were apparently exchanged, and the victim ultimately produces a handgun, apparently to defend himself and others in his group from the would-be robbery suspects. The victim fired his weapon towards the suspects and then all parties immediately fled the location,” the Los Angeles Police Department recounted in a press release Tuesday. Rand Paul and Dr. Anthony Fauci clashed once again over whether President Biden’s top COVID advisor had lied to Congress when he insisted back in May that the NIH hadn’t finance gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (Dr. Fauci also furiously pushed back on the assertion that COVID-19 may have leaked from the lab, before suddenly changing his tune). Though barely mentioned in US media, 48 Christian churches in Canada have been vandalized or burned down in the past two months. The latest occurred Monday, when the St. George Coptic Orthodox Church in Surrey, British Colombia, was destroyed by fire. NEW YORK (AP) — U.S. life expectancy fell by a year and a half in 2020, the largest one-year decline since World War II, public health officials said Wednesday. The decrease for both Black Americans and Hispanic Americans was even worse: three years.
The drop spelled out by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is due mainly to the COVID-19 pandemic, which health officials said is responsible for close to 74% of the overall life expectancy decline. More than 3.3 million Americans died last year, far more than any other year in U.S. history, with COVID-19 accounting for about 11% of those deaths. Fox News’s Geraldo Rivera on Monday knocked “crazy talk” on cable television about people “having the constitutional right not to get vaccinated.”

Mayor Bill de Blasio will mandate that employees of the city’s public hospital and health clinic systems be vaccinated for the coronavirus — or submit to weekly testing for COVID-19, The Post has learned.
